Did some really good things today...great evasion and kicks to advantage....but....I really worry for him as a defender...gives away too many goals and frees in defensive 50....the sooner we can move him up to a permanent midfield HFF the better....would prefer Leigh Fifher back there for the defensive work if possible.

I thought early today he should have either been dragged (his body language is shyte at the moment) or moved onto the the half forward flank. Get him out of the back line, his talent is wasted there.

agree. he's at his best creating rather than negating.

play him wing or hff.

directly cost us 6 goals by my count

tho him and Gram were amongst our best, they both cost us alot aswell

how long before Ross realises that he's not even a key defenders bootlaces, and should never be played as one

i counted only four, but there can be no doubt he's a good player. wasted in a defensive role imo

The guy he played on is 200cm and you want fish leigh fisher playing on him??
You would think Leigh has enough trouble in the 22222s without dumping this on him

I think he had an excellent last quarter. Not so sure about his effort in the first 3 though.

Ball banger...without Goose and Max we struggle...but I would prefer Leigh Fisher on the Medium forward (Motlop for instance) and Sam Fisher on the tall....and I would much prefer BJ wing forward...as good as his setup work is.

It's a good thing because IMO it's a form of passion, but he does need to know when to stop because ultimately it is costing us at stages.

Goddard got the bad end of the umpires again.

it was blatant when he got the ball in the middle and was scragged for about 30 seconds before being released, then was dumped brutally after disposing of the ball.

umpires chose to miss those.

lovely kicking by goddard though, just cut through Ports midfield with his kicking.

A lot of very good, and some very bad.......

Not a full backs arsehole........why his ability is wasted back there I'll never know?????

He is also a targetted man by the umps, they must hate him!!!!!

He is as frustrated with the umps at the moment as we are.

Needs to suck it up and pull his head in.

he needs to control his anger and frustrtation becaue theres no way of convincing an umpire to change his mind about a decision and arguing will go against you... e.g. goddard took a mark and was held on to for about 20 secs yet no 50m penalty. and then as soon as he was released the umpire called play on...

hes got a lot of talent, speed and everything needed to become an elite player - shame to see him stay in the back line

totally agree

carrying on like a child at the moment.......

Undisciplined and gives away far too many frees.....

His focus is too much on what the umps are doing.

agree, and it is counterproductive because the umpires start to look for any excuse to ping him.

we should get him off the backline for a while. he's better in a creating role than a negating one anyway

didn't he get 30 odd possessions playing on the wing? and his game before his knee last year at half forward was sublime.

kosi looked good coming off the Half back line as well...

As poor a game i have seen from BJ for some time. He just seemed like a fustrated man today. He wears his heart on his sleeve and it got the best of him, i would have liked to see RL move him fwd because it got to the stage where you were cringing whenever the ball was anywhere near his opponent. Picked it up like a champ in the last qtr though

Absolute crap.

There was a 50 given when a trainer ran through the mark.

Don't burn him for that. BJ was excellent today and one of the few that seems to give a F&%k out there of late.

Some of BJ's 50/50 contests were crucial......he won three in the last term which probably got us over the line....
