Rix is NOT the answer IMO (been tried and tried and has shown NOTHING)
I have stated before that Michael Gardiner is just like Matthew Allen....
All Australian one year and not much since...
Essendon found that out with Allen and I dare say that Gardiner is a goner ...
I gather that McEvoy is injured???
If not, just why the F*** isn't he been given a chance???

IMHO they will need someone to go to ff when Kozi has a run (hopefully they will continue with that), and/or to chf if Roo goes upfield , so Charlie may get a birth there (cant see Rix playing ff, but you never know,
, and one of either Gwilt or Geary as a backman, then a forward /mid from Schnieds Birss or Fiora which would leave Rix out .....
so for mine its Charlie. Geary & Birss.......to send a message to Schnieds

and I suppose that Matthew Kreuzer isnt "too young, too green, isnt heavy enough"???goodie wrote:Too young, too green, not fit enough, not heavy enough.St Fidelius wrote:I gather that McEvoy is injured???

He'll get there, but no need to rush him

Not sure you can compare McEvoy to Kreuzer at the moment. As for saying Fiora and Schneider are lucky who says so they may well be out evn though I think only one of them will be.St Fidelius wrote:and I suppose that Matthew Kreuzer isnt "too young, too green, isnt heavy enough"???goodie wrote:Too young, too green, not fit enough, not heavy enough.St Fidelius wrote:I gather that McEvoy is injured???

Two rejects: Cameron Cloke and Cain Ackland
Two kids: Matthew Kreuzer and Shaun Hampson
And St Fidelius: I believe Plugger was referencing my earlier statement

Never said that. But with King, Kosi, Gardiner, Blake and yes even Rix on the list, we have a depth that means we don't have to rush McEvoy.St Fidelius wrote:goodie wrote:Have you seen Carlton's ruck brigade?St Fidelius wrote:and I suppose that Matthew Kreuzer isnt "too young, too green, isnt heavy enough"???goodie wrote:Too young, too green, not fit enough, not heavy enough.St Fidelius wrote:I gather that McEvoy is injured???

Carlton don't have that luxury.
And I should point out that I posted earlier that I don't think Rix will play

Geez, is Cain Ackland still playing? I thought he had run off with Trent Knobule !!!goodie wrote:Have you seen Carlton's ruck brigade?St Fidelius wrote:and I suppose that Matthew Kreuzer isnt "too young, too green, isnt heavy enough"???goodie wrote:Too young, too green, not fit enough, not heavy enough.St Fidelius wrote:I gather that McEvoy is injured???

Gardiner and Rix are NOT "depth" FFS. THEY ARE NOT UP TO IT.
We are playing a side that has "bottomed out" for the year, and a perfect chance to play McEvoy along side Kosi, King and Blake...
Rix is not our future

McEvoys form lately doesnt give him a right to a recall. He is struggling at Scorps. As for Rix he may be only an emergency where he has been named a few times lately.St Fidelius wrote:Gardiner and Rix are NOT "depth" FFS. THEY ARE NOT UP TO IT.

So, in your opinion the Saints would be consider "complacent" by selecting McEvoy??goodie wrote:McEvoy is our future, which is why he like all talls he should be nursed into the game.
We want our best team possible out there, and McEvoy isn't there yet. As for playing a side that has "bottomed out for the year", last week should be a reminder against complacency.
Just why the F*** Rix got a game is the question...
I would suggest that we would be considered more "complacent" by selecting Rix IMO

i agree with you....ross has gone a bit cold on his play the kids edict...for what reason who the f*** knows.....St Fidelius wrote:Gardiner and Rix are NOT "depth" FFS. THEY ARE NOT UP TO IT.

Come on!! In all seriousness this is the worst side on paper I've seen for a long long time!!
Are there any Port trolls here reading? As surely you'd agree this is the worst squad the Port Power football club has ever fielded since there induction in 97!
Fair Dinkum!! If we don't destroy this poor excuse for a SANFL side then we won't make the 8. You can talk up the "I'll just take the win" and "don't get arrogant" lines, but seriously we should annihalate this rabble if we are anything.
Anything under 60 points will be treated as a loss .
The side should be aiming at a 90 + shollacking here and really ground these cretins into this foreign turf that they haven't touched for 7 years!
Seriously,it needs to be a blood bath on sunday if we are to impose any threat on the competition in the remaining 2 months.
Bring back the Lockett era
I would think last weeks side was worse so if we dont go in with the right attitude we all know what can happen.jonesy wrote:Snakeman66 wrote: PORT ADELAIDE

Armo is still developing and will only get better, so be patient. Guys who are working their clackers off at Casey deserve selection, so Rix, Birss and Geary should be rewarded. Rix is no star, but Gardiner disgraced himself last week with a poor effort for an experienced player. We are desperate for more goals from flankers and midfielders, so Birss will get a run I think. Gwilt is another who is developing slowly but surely and I wish they would put him on the ball and not down back.
