Jeff Fehring
There are death notices in today's paper for a Jeff Fehring 21.4.1956 - 25.07.2008.
Notices don't mention it, but is this the St Kilda player Jeff Fehring?

Sad news.
Can I ask, why hasn't this been reported in the AFL press?

Always sad to lose a Saint; always terrible to hear of someone passing that way.
Kick it long, Jeff!
Kick it right across the sky!
Vale and condolences to the family.

They will not grow old, as those from more northern States grow old.
For them it will always be three-quarter-time, with the scores level
and the wind advantage in the final term.

Jeff's goal is right up there with my strongest memories ofa moment ata football game.
As soon as he kicked it everyone at the ground sensed it was a mammoth kick.
It seemed to me that the whole crowd went quiet...and the ball seemed to fly in slow motion.
Jezza was at full forward...he had led out...and you cood just see him go geeze it is going to go over me as it locked up in awe as it sawed passed him to land and bounce through for goal...at which moment the whole crowd around me in the outer all lept off the ground and roared.
