anyone worried about letting this coming game slip?

Post: # 608498Post Solar »

part of me just wants to see the boys play four good hard quarters. We would be throwing away our gains the pas t month if we don't. Can't take any game in the next 6 weeks easily!

can't go in being too cocky or arrogant, especially on a road trip to perth..

yep, the Eagles regard it as their natural right to beat St Kilda in Perth regardless of ladder position.. an arrogance born from years of media adulation - take it from one who lives here. So, Eagles will come out fearless - if not cocky - and stung by the fact they now sit below Fremantle on the ladder. Saints could lose by 2 goals or win by 22. They need to play like they did for Harvey's 350... just keep stuffing pressure down the Eagles' throat until the final siren.

As for Tim Lane.. when he made that comment who was he referring to when he said 'they' were wanting Lyons sacked and now "they want him canonised"? Was it all of us Saints members and supporters out here Tim? Or was it just the imaginary ones in your head? Tim , do you hear voices or just manufacture things for dramatic effect? I'd like to canonise Tim Lane.. if someone would just lend me a cannon. [/quote]

There's already another thread on this, but I have to say, I'm petrified...and I really hope the club accepts this is a danger game. Any interstate trip is a danger game.

We can't let anything go - no matter how easy or straight forward they seem.

100% commitment 100% of the time...not just when it suits us.

i'm sure the players realise it is as important a game to win as last week. they all are from here on in. would be very disappointed if we slacken off in intensity even one little bit.

If we let it slip...then we are not good enough to make an impact in the finals anyway.

The players and coaches all know that we have an excellent chance to grab a top 4 spot.....or at least have a 5/5 6 finish with a home final....but we need to at least win all the games bar say the Pies one (and Top 4 may require the Pies game too..)

So no excuses if we lose.

Exactly, which is why I keep telling myself to not worry. If we lose then so be it..another false dawn. If we win, well we focus on next week with the same intent. (And be extatic as all Western Saints will be!!)

I know we are Sainters, and that means we have to be cautious because we can never believe we can be relied on the do the predictable thing, but can we just enjoy this great run of form?

Even if the run of form has only lasted two quarters?

I also think Port has their cue in the rack. I think Collingwood and Adelaide are our major games in the rest of the season and I think we will win both.

I get nervous about every damn game - a 50 point margin at 3/4 time gets me starting to feel reasonable. It must be an age thing after years of pain and suffering - football not marriage :D

Any other year I would feel the same way as all of the above, but I am convinced that West Coast is not interested in winning any more games this year. There has never been a west coast like this one. :)

In my 40 years as a member I've seen the unloseable games lost & vise-versa. Too many things can happen on a footy field. If Riewoldt, Ball, Dal, King & Max go down in the 1st Qtr, we might have problems. Hopefully we could still hold on.

I once spent a year in Adelaide, I think it was on a Sunday.

West Coast wants Naitanu.
Worsfold will not let his team win, he needs the wooden spoon to certain he get his man.

pretty much sums it up... arrogance is good though.... better than thinking we will be demolished.

West Coast have had the cue in the rack for a very long time now. The only thing that could stop us is if they played Rix on Cox all game. That would be catastrophic.
