At the moment, I can only see the following:
MG to come in. You need 2 good rucks to win a flag.
Bakes is not walk up start anymore. Unless 120% fit for finals.
X if fit would come back later.
Other than these 3, I can't see why others such as Howard and Geary would be selected.

Sorry, forgot to mention...
Armo is being developed nicely and has massive upside (as does Geary).
His dropping has been to allow him to work on certain aspects of his game. So if he's doing what's expected, he won't be dropped.
My final point is that we are in the home stretch, and injuries are under control. So why make changes for changes sake?
Now is NOT the time start introduced inexperienced players, no matter how much potential they have.
Now is the time to start settling your 22, having them play together as much as possible.

There would be two, possibly 3 players pushing for selection
- MG
- Geary
- Briss
I doubt birss will come in, I don't know how well MG is going, geary could be a chance.
so possibly:
- MG
- Geary
BUT - who goes out?
It won't be fiora, only one week in, and his pace and kicking will be important on the big ground. Eddy is fitting in nicely, Armo adds toughness & tackling. He did a great handball to set up the gram, could have had 3 goals if he kicked stright....Geary bring more pace, so though call.
As p66 says, we would lose a runner if MG comes in...
Could be no change..

I would like to see no change
of the positions, would love to see us use schneider as a lead up forward more. Fiora could also be used as an option. Thankfully armo, dal, eddy and CJ are all giving us options in the forward 50.
Work kosi into the ruck a little more, slip blake back to CHB and release BJ onto the ball a little more. I think he is wasted as a deep back, but sometimes a coach ends up with certain match ups during the game because of the state of the game....
If kosi goes, would like to move BJ to half forward, and bring in geary to take the backline/wing position.

Re: Changes if any next week
can't see the point in changing a set up that's been working pretty well, to be honest. geary might come in though.plugger66 wrote:Not sure how anyone went today but the only 2 that probably could come in they did ok would be MG and Bakes.
If we bring in another ruckman we lose the ability to do more interchanges due to either King or MG having to be off as they have no where else to play. My question is. Is it worth losing that to gain a second ruckman and if we do play King the only 2 that could go are Eddy and Armo which means we lose a runner for a lumberer.

Agree, King could do with a rest and MG with a run. Possibly Geary in for Armo or Fiora.Devilhead wrote:I would be tempted to bring in M. Gardiner for King and give King a well earned week off and keep him fresh for Port.
Gardiner has played the majority of his games at Subi and I agree that Blake could be used in a running role with Cox.
No other changes need be made - keep Fizz in for his run due to the size of Subi and if we so happen to get on top during the game it maybe a good chance to give Armo a prolonged run in the midfield.
Maybe this year?
Good point about it being at Subi, Armo may struggle even more so. A spell in the ressies might do him good as much as I hate to admit.
I'd love to see MG come back in, would be awesome.
Did Cox and MG ever ruck together? Surely they would have? That woulda been one hell of a partnership if MG was still there and still fighting fit.

If the 22 last night were good enough, then why not leave "as is"?
Unless we are forced to make a change through injury or suspension I say leave the side as it is.

I know Gardiner is absolutely screaming to play this week. Is he fit enough? Is he a better option that running King into the ground @ Subi?
And Geary is certainly pushing with form in the magoos.
It seems difficult to change this lineup. Any changes I think will be done for structure playing away on Subi.
Fiora had an ordinary first half, but was very, very good in the third quarter....did a job.
I can really only see Eddy going out for Geary....which is still a good thing....We have strong depth in his type. Even Charlie Gardiner is pushing and may be more suited to the lead up HF role, covering more ground......
Why drop Armo? Really...Why? Midfield rotation will be important. This may be Fiora's saving grace also. Perhaps leaving Fizz on half Back with Armo & Banger on the bench for the rotation is the way to go....swinging Fiora through in the second half also......But then...Birss could do this also.
Our injury list makes these decisions difficult to make.

"Now the ball is loose, it gives St. Kilda a rough chance. Black. Good handpass. Voss. Schwarze now, the defender, can run and from a long way".....

If King could do with a rest then give him one but I'd still play two ruckman to go up against Cox. Kosi or Blake would be farting at thunder.
Agree JB.
But why bring up GT? Ok, just kidding...
Kosi should do ok up forward, given the Coke's defence. And Blake can rotate thru the middle if required.

so i think unchanged lineup
Cox is awesome and did a lot and they still got pumped. cos they lost by a lot does not mean cox isnt awesome. just means they are so bad we can concede him a lot and still not get punished.
eagles are tanking anyway.
