Jason Blake you are a STAR
how about the effort for blakey in the third quarter was it. Excellent move by Lyon to put him in the ruck and he just dominated and helped us set up a wonderful win with his 3 goals. the two nicks were clearly bog but Blake's third quarter and the whole match was just fantastic. really stepped up this year with the absence of goose and is doing a mighty fine job.

I think we are definitely ironing out our weak links, and now starting to also play to our strengths.
Great as a backup ruckman to compliment Kosi and King/Gardi.
Give the team so much more flexibility. He doesn't have to ruck all day, was down back in the first half and when thrown into the middle absolutely turned it about.
Great work by Ross to get Gardi and King and keep Blake as a backup so as to switch about the matchups and get some run.
So good to have some ruckmen doing the job and hten being able to use Blakes versitility by putting him in there to change it about.
Kudo's to Ross Lyon.

I have been a Blake fan this year..and have posted so...including in the last big thread on him when many bagged him.stinger wrote:

I was not two years ago when he had too many brain fades and poor use of the ball.
Last year he was pretty good and consistent. An improved player.
This year he has improved again. He has removed the brain fades and has improved his use of the ball...and his spoiling skills are now only second to Maxes.
Tonight he nailed those three goals. Several years back he would due to his great running get similar opportunites at goal...but would miss.
Congratulations to Blake on his great committment and steading improvement....and his good year in 2008 to date.
Tonight was one his best 3 games ever..

i will admit he has often driven me crazy...but it has only been his skills. his effort is ALWAYS there.
what i loved was how pumped up he was at the siren, turned round to the crowd fists pumping and arms waving.
great to see you can just tell his heart is all saints!

Definitely his best game for us, and like the team he has been steadily improving over the last month. Played well against Roos and Blues in defence. Like many here I've never questioned his effort, stamina, etc but always felt teams were happy to let him off the leash because he did so little damage. Well tonight he wrecked the Hawks with a withering burst of brilliance I never imagined he could be so damaging but I couldn't be happier for the bloke

I notice that b4e has not made a comment on blakes game...
b4e has knocked blake for years and even suggested that Rix was a far better choice
Blake played a great game and time for the constant knockers on here to post something about his performance IMO
FAIR DINKUM
Some on here need to get a clue

Blake = legend.
When he was moved into the ruck, he turned the match on its head.
