I hate that white top!!!!
The clash strip should still bea strip that "shouts" that it is a St Kilda Top.
Way too many teams have these white type clash strips and so you do not know which team it is groma quick glance.
For my money the Saints should only ever play ina top which is clearly a St Kilda one.
Whether that be our tri-color, the candy stripes (yes I am biased), or another top.
Whichever it is it should be identifiably a St Kilda strip...and there should be no posibility of it being any other clubs strip.

I think that it is the black back..Mr Magic wrote:How does our 'Home' Jumper clash with the 'navy blue'?
Why do we have to wear a 'clash' jumper?
But as others have mentioned in the past rather than go all white..we could keep the tri-colr on the front and just adopta white or red back, in place of the black back.
Would be much better than the all white jumper.

It would be much better than a white jumper, but the AFL wouldn't go for it because it is too similar to our original (and the best ) jumper and it won't sell enough and won't make enough money
So that's a no from Dimwit

Now thats just way too damn logical....don't get me started....if we wear the white you immediately get the feeling that we have less chance of winning...just looks weak and non intimadating....and it doesn't look like the saints ....sick of this crap....wasn't a problem for overa hundred years...white and black shorts and a red or white back would solve any clash but its all about the bloody dollar....wouldn't have a problem with the candy cane which should never have been retired...saintsRrising wrote:I think that it is the black back..Mr Magic wrote:How does our 'Home' Jumper clash with the 'navy blue'?

5 prelims in 7 years. 40 wins from 49 games.
2009 and 2010 were 2 of the 5 best years ever by the St.Kilda FC.
Thanks for all your efforts Saints.

Far be it for me to say something good about Carlton, but that white clash strip of theirs is probably one of the better ones in the AFL.
That said, I don't mind Freo's white with purple anchor one either.
Our faded strip is a shocker. As is Port and Brisbanes (not the fitzroy one, that's great!) clashers.
Essendon's big sash + red shorts is a good'un and should stop most of their clashes.
The one melbourne used against us is an abomination and should never be worn again.
Overall these clash strips are hit and miss.
Good: Carlton, Freo, Essendon (w/ Red Shorts), Collingwood, West Coast.
Okay: Bulldogs, Hawthorn, Geelong, Kangaroos, Richmond.
Bad: St. Kilda, Port, Brisbane, Adelaide.
Worse: Melbourne

It is St Kilda though, so we'd probably be docked our 4 points.aussierules0k wrote:Suppose we came out wearing the slab with white back, suppose we lined up in position, suppose it was live to air. Would the AFL run in, stop the game and demand we change jumpers? I don't think so. We'd be fined... no biggie. We'd have made a point... WE run our club.
AFL approved jumper...

I can't tolerate that pathetic basketball singlet.
I'd be happy with the old red white and black slab front with a white back.
But what's the clash between the blues all blue and us with a black back and white shorts?? Do players have to stop and think -- "who's wearing the white shorts today? - are we playing home or awaytoday?" before they can handball the ball to someone???

I loved the striped jumper. It had history and looked bloody good, when you looked at it you could say "now THAT is a St Kilda jumper" but of course the AFL bow down to Collingwood once again because of a suposed clash with them when we wore it in away games.
I hate the apron jumper we currently wear as a clash. Its pathetic, weak and we look awful in it. The sooner we get rid of it for good the better. Surley we could wear the stripes in all clashes except the Pies and use a fully red backed version of the hot cross bun jumper for games against them. It would spin $ for the club and league (and lets face it thats what teh game is about these days) and make us fans happy (or happier at least) both "clash" jumpers have a history and the fans like them both.
IMHO the only reason we have clashes today where there were none in the past is the material, you have a shiny dark or light jumper with a printed logo or stripes or whatever and they blend togther.
Melbourne's blue looks liek black which is why they clash with Essendon, our black looks like Carltons blue which is why we clash with them and so on.
Its stupid I know but we should expect to wear a white jumper cause the powers that be say so. At least we dont have to wear an away jumper in a home game to apease Collingwood like the North Canberra Coast Interchange Stewards do later this year.

Struggling to see the difference between that and what they normally wear, to be honest Dools.saintdooley wrote:they dont have a CLASH jumper, but its called an away jumper.GrumpyOne wrote:What Collingwood clash strip?Otiman wrote:Overall these clash strips are hit and miss.

White back, black numbers. Could do with a little more white for tweaking, but as a jumper it looks good. If anything, it's the sponsors of Collingwood that make their jumper clash with ours.GrumpyOne wrote:Struggling to see the difference between that and what they normally wear, to be honest Dools.saintdooley wrote:they dont have a CLASH jumper, but its called an away jumper.GrumpyOne wrote:What Collingwood clash strip?Otiman wrote:Overall these clash strips are hit and miss.
