Maybe let the Train have a run at the forwards. At least they'll know when they've stuffed up. I wouldn't wanna upset the big fella, or cop a spray from him.

I reckon keep Barker!!
is that you johnny barker?

our forward line WAS one of the most functional in the league, prior to barker's arrival...

in fact it was probably a strength of st kilda...
HAHA

NO - Its not Johnny!!

Our forward line was functional but back in those days we had the dual Coleman medalist, aka G-Train & aka G aka Fraser Gehrig, fit & firing..

Who do we have now?? Kosi & Riewoldt who fight for marks & are both as accurate as a blind darts player... Saying that however, it was reported that Riewoldt cannot practice goal kicking during the week due to injuries & if that is the case then it aint Johnny Barker's fault taht he cant kick...

a couple of years ago, FG spent MOST of the game in the forward 50, past 18 months he's been steaming around the wing, chasing kicks.

this is not utilitising your tools effectively IMO.

look at alistare lynch, he spent his last 4 seasons not moving off the goal square, where he was quite effective for the lions, playing till he was 35.

there is no way lynch, like FG, could play what the coaches expect from him.

also Reiwoldt, kosi, milne and others are far further up the ground than in previous years.

even our last two wins we scored relatively lightly to past years, in fact both teams we beat had the same number of opportunities than us.

gutsy wins, but they were won from dour play, not massive goal scoring.

Would like to see a St Kilda person in. Gehrig, Hamill or Aussie would all be welcome inclusions.

Why? 2 of those 3 I doubt have any interest in coaching. The other hasnt proven a thing in the under 18's. Get the best coaches forget about this ex Saints rubbish.

I'd like to see Terry Daniher back in place of John Barker. Hell, Neale Daniher will do!

Dunno about any of that; but I wish Burkie would get out of the boardroom and be a specialist Tackling Coach.... He used to stick tackles like no-one else.

Lots of ideas

Lets just hope that the club has the correct processes in place to select the very best person/s for the job, not just the best available !!

My first choice as forward coach, return of Terry Daniher.

I just don't like Michael Voss' opinion of himself. He seems to have a massive ego and confidence in his ability to coach even though he does nothing in that department to prove.
Also Leigh Matthews' quote in regard to Voss' getting a senior coaching job was that he felt all senior coaches needed to do an apprenticeship as assistant first, sort of told me he wasn't so confident in Voss' aspirations either.
He obviously knows Voss well enough to judge.

I'm unsure about John Barker I have no idea what his input has been this year. It's hard to mark him either way as the game style hasn't leant itself to
a consistent forward structure. Frankly I'd be amazed if any other forward coach would have had better results the way the ball has come into the forward line.

I'd love to see StKilda people in the coaching roles. Every club would prefer their own there however when you look at most other clubs they have people with experience from other clubs. There are obvious advantages to this in bringing fresh ideas.
All up we need the best available personel regardless of where they come from.
