Harvey equals another record

Post: # 594888Post El Wood »

When Harves steps on to Carrara he equals Paul Salmon's record of most number of different grounds played on by an AFL footballer. I think it's 21.

There was a thread about the grounds Harves has played on some time ago.

IIRC from that thread, Harves didn't play in the Saints teams that played the Brisbane Bears at Carara?

But given the record is for 'most grounds played on by a plyer in VFL/AFL' any reserves matches wouldn't count.

It would be similar to including Casey, Port Melbourne, Sandringham, Bendigo etc for today's Victorian players and WAFL/SANFL grounds for WA/SA based players.

I'm waiting for Harvs to break the first ever father to play with thier son in the comp!!

Seriously, with the form Harvs has shown this season he could easily go on in 09! But naturally I can't feel what the great man feels in the way of his own physical well-being. He can't go on forever- even though he appears he could! A top 5 player virtually every week! I could understand him retiring if he wasn't continually in that mix!!....but he is!

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!

teh bears? I forget

91 was more important because we played Geelong in the final, and Locket and fatty finn had a shootout.

ablett got rubbed out for dropping david grant and nathan burke (for those who remember grant, he was an OUTSTANDING defender, think Voss + marking), opening up our defence and allowing bargeass more access to teh ball.

we found it impossible to stop their flow when grant got poleaxed.

I think folks look back and plugger, winmar, and a young loewe, and forget how good david grant and spud brawley frawley were, even russell morris had two outstanding seasons as an attacking CHB based on teh grunt work of spud and grant behind him.

you'd see grant man up to guys 4inch 5 inches taller than him, and out mark them.

IIRC the last Reserves flag was won by Essendon in 1999...v St KIlda with the Essendon side containing one S Milne.

Just on strange grounds...we noticed Big Ben out very early pre-game getting a look at the TD surface..probably has never set foot on it as he didnt play NAB Cup and we dont train there

Gee...very weird for Banger running out onto a ground for the first time..last time would have been....?
