So the Bus at last has tickets!!!!!
Looks like that Bus that Roo spoke of at our B&F at long last has tickets.
Players up to now had been just jumping on and off as they pleased without paying the fare.
Looks like at last that a fare is being demanded.
No pay...no ride.

The players have too...free rides are over.JeffDunne wrote:Who's paying the fare?
Pity this did not happen last year. About time Lyon started demanding full fares paid by decent work-rates and application.
This week is only bringing to a head what we all knew and Roo expressed at the B&F...the saints have too many freeloading passengers.
M Voss called a spade a spade too not long back...and Dal would have been one of the spades.

Some take pleasure in 'off-field' being all nice and modern, whilst others prefer winning football matches.
Whatever floats your boat I suppose.

The fact that off field we were a shambles for five years is exactly why we are in this position onfield today.rodgerfox wrote: I guess that's what great about footy.

You need to have a professional football department, the cornerstone and foundation of every successful club to build success, finally we now have that.
Unfortunately due to not having had one for over five years and the culminative mess that this created, on so many levels, it has set this club backwards about 5 years and this we are now seeing, evidenced by our onfield results.
Recruiting is the lifeblood of any football club, you stuff it up for five years running and this is what you get.
It ain't rocket science but all the same, it goes right over the heads of most of the deluded, dumbed down, dingbats, despots and dong bongers, the fair dinkum, flock of flaggetating flogs, fools and fluffers, the know nothing, numbnuts, nongs and nuffies, the gaggle of geeks, gimps, gumps, goofballs and goat riders and the bumbling, buffoons, bong bandits and bone monkeys from the babble rabble on Saintsational, of which you happen to be one, dodgy.
now back in your foxhole, dodgy, your inane drivel is nauseating at best!

Surely you're not suggesting that was GT...
I would have thought that would have been RB call on just how much money is spent on the football dept...
Don't wait for the light at the end of the tunnel to appear, run down there and light the bloody thing yourself!
No Barks knows it was GT. He knows everthing about Gt time at the club. He even wrote a book on it.St Fidelius wrote:So just who are you blaming for the "next to no rookies"???barks4eva wrote:

but it is imperative if this club is ever going to be TRULY successful that the football department structure is in order, which it now is.
If we'd have had this model in 2000, we'd most likely IMHO have won a premiership, such was the over abundance of riches that we enjoyed in 2004 and 2005 as a result of the drafts of 2000 and 2001.
Our onfield performances and capabilities are a direct result of mismangement and neglect from our previous football department and aside from Thomas and Rendell, Butterss is largely to blame for allowing this amatuerish approach to take root in the first place.
Obviously a $700,000 loss in the first year of the Butterss/Thomas reign saw a massive focus on the bottomline, and the football department was a casualty of this.
I do not however expect simpleton's such as yourself dodgy, to even remotely grasp this point/fact, as you've showed consistently for a long period of time that you're a complete and utter goofball.

Are they those draft picks in 2000 and 2001 that have gone backwards in the last year or two. Apart from Hamill and Vossy they are pretty much all still at the club. Matter of fact one of them is only a seconds player apparently.barks4eva wrote:rodgerfox wrote: I guess that's what great about footy.

We were going to win the flag in 07.
We were going to win the flag in 08.
Ross Lyon was 'the real biscuit'.
Rod Butterss was 'the best there is'.
Our list could coach itself to the top 4.
We should move to the Junction Oval.
See a pattern here?
Do you really think you're qualified to even talk about football anymore?

Actually while I might not be as enthusiastic as I once was, for example I'm a bit annoyed that it has taken so long to play the kids, when it was obvious 12 months ago that this needed to be done, as poor recruiting in the past has sent the list into decline.Ross Lyon was 'the real biscuit'.
Having said that he's only been here for 1.5 seasons and I'm all about giving someone a fair go.
I never said one bad word about Thomas until he'd coached 86 games.
I regret that he was sacked when he was, because we'd be an even bigger cactus now, without Harvey, Milne, M.Gardiner and the decline that started in 2006 would have continued to the point wher most would actually get it, not you of course, but most.
Another joke in response to Mischa's gay love for all things Thomas.Rod Butterss was 'the best there is'.
I wasn't being serious, but then again, I've learnt by now that when it comes to you dodgy, the elevator doesn't go all the way to the top floor.
With the list we had in 2004 and 2005, this was just reality. Our list could coach itself to the top 4.
Fact is coaches are overrated, they are only as good as the cattle you put out there.
I also have word, that players, made comment on Thomas's coaching and top player's at that and it backs up this assertion, relating to the list coaching itself.
Perhaps to some degree, this was also a good thing, so I'm not Thomas bashing, just stating what I heard and observed.
Absolutely, I truly belive that this is where the St.Kilda Football Club should base itself, in St.Kilda, if not then the next best option IMO is the Trevor Barker Oval.We should move to the Junction Oval.
I am not happy about the Frankston move, fwiw

So you wanted to keep a guy and hope we were worse so you are proved right. Its all about you Brains4never.
By the way Milney was dropped so GT might be right and MG has hardly played.
What would be different though is Dal would be playing and in form as would Joey, Rooy, Kosi, and they would be playing for each other which is why we were a great TEAM in 2004 and 2005.
Are we playing as a team now brains4never?
