Ben McEvoy to debut this week

Post: # 588980Post hellorocky »

Heard on local radio that Ben will debut this week against Fremantle. I haven't confirmed their source but I'm sure it's reliable.

So, local Sainters, get on board OUR bus to the game and see what is hoped to be the first of many games for Big Mac :D. (A win wouldn't be too bad either )

they may have got their news from Herald sun

http://www.news.com.au/heraldsun/sport/ ... 42,00.html
Coach Lyon last night said injuries would force change and Gardiner would be replaced by McEvoy.

"That's it. McEvoy is going to play," Lyon said.

what has allen done to deserve a chance???

what has eddy done to deserve a chance???

they might be young st kilda listed players but they have to show something surely to deserve chance

at least armo carved up in the 2's..

Isn't Eddy a rookie? If so. he can't play unless he's elevated to the senior list.

if you actually read the article you would understand it comes down to injuries.

howard/eddy might come in for dempster (personally howard should get his role) who is 50/50 with a ankle injury.

Kosi is not certain to come back and therefore a in form allen is in line to play forward.

Interestingly I have never heard of players being called "back/forward flank players"..... god they love to make up s*** at the Herald Sun.

Is this Lyon a reliable source?

SaintsPremiers if we're being honest they probably havent done enough to deserve a chance in a top 8 team. But in reality we arent a top 8 team and we cannot continue to lose games with the same team being rotated through. Need to give these kids a chance 1. for experiance and 2. to see how they play on the big stage.

Surely you'd prefer that than:
Out: M. Gardiner Dempster McQualter
In: Rix L.Fisher Birss

lets not go nuts

we shouldn't include young and inexperienced players just for the sake of it

bring Armo back, Ferguson and McEvoy, and of course Kosi

MG, Schneider and Dempster all out injured, and drop Charlie and Gwilt

and as i said before, R Clarke should be at the bottom of the list

Agree, why drop Charlie after he kicked goals last week, surely he did enough to keep his spot?

Kosi will need another 3 or 4 off, don't want to rush him back in and by the way he's playing he doesnt want to be rushed back in either. Another truckload of cotton wool arrived at Moorabin today so all is good.

Anyway Go the Big MAC.. this kid is meant to be as good as Kreuzer, carve em up son!

This is the order in which i'd bring players in from Casey.

Armitage
Birss
McEvoy
Allen
Howard
Eddy
Miles
Rix
R. Clarke
L. Fisher

Ideally, we should get as many games as possible into at least the top 5 in that list.

YAY Finally, he should have been brought in 3 weeks ago !! Allen should be in too he has been in great form for the seconds again on the weekend being the best forward on the ground and sealing the game for them too.

Id like to see Mcevoy get a run but is he a ruckman or a fwd?

Allen too would be great to see it and our fwd line hasnt been functioning....but can you play them both if McEvoy is to be tried up fwd?

Birrs, Armo back in.

We've enough choice in front runners from last week to leave a few out.

Raph Clarke IS NOT an automatic come back in.
Gwilt/Mqualter wont make it IMO.

If McEvoy plays forward then he shouldnt play. He is a ruckman and will play in the ruck. The last thing we need to do with new guys is play them in positions which arent their best and wreck their confidence.

I think Allen will play if Kosi doesnt come up as we need another tallish forward and he did well last week which means he has some form which is when we should play young guys.
