You really arnt making many friends around here are you ?
Oh and may i ask is this you
Seriously, neck up a bit. What is the point of posting a thread with no opinion? Easy to take potshots- some of us are brave enough to put our head over the parapet and give an opinion.
Trolls are bad mkay.

Thought RL was up beat.. Considering..
The best thing to come out of it was him finally talking about our need to recruit for pace (at last!)

It's clear Lyon knows what needs to be done, but putting the mechanisms in place to do that is a struggle at present.
I firmly believe that he is not putting enough emphasis on the mentality of his players. In an ideal world, players should be professional enough to be 100% switched on at all times. This is not the case. They need a good rev up, and being called soft should be the catalyst for Ross Lyon to realise that a good kick up the arse is as good as 3 hours watching a replay.

Yet you feel inclined to argue about non-saint issues within this forum....lennyandkarl wrote:Spinner wrote:Didn't realise this was google, not a Saints forum. Want a waah burger with your french cries? Seriously, we lost, we're s***, deal with it. Don't go bringing your mum up on a footy forum then crying about it when people call you on it. You are th kind of medicore fan which has kept us tied to the bottom end of the ladder.saint edward wrote:lennyandkarl wrote:Spinner wrote:Can you post a piccy of your mum up here like St Ed did? I aint a fan .... I AM A SUPPORTER, how dare you call me a mediocre fan when i have been a signed up member my whole lifetime, and i bleed this club and pour money into the club.
And mate i dont care what you say about my mum because you will never be close to the person she was.
St Edward...just ignore him and he will go away..
On the presser...interesting that he admitted to being frustrated with the midfield and in the last qtr threw some blokes in there like BJ/Gram/Sam Fisher...at least he had a crack at mixing it up..would have been better at 1/2 time IMHO...when the game was still winnable.

Good post its how I see it also.Otiman wrote:It's clear Lyon knows what needs to be done, but putting the mechanisms in place to do that is a struggle at present.

One of the things I look for in a press conference after a loss is the coaches ability to pinpoint where we went wrong and whats required in future.
Look at Mark Harvey - NO IDEA after a press conference and cant describe whats required.
Lyon can and does. His comments about our midfield and lack of run and our constant "bombing" of the footy do tell me he knows the problems but that the fix maybe tougher than first thought.
Otiman you make a good point maybe he needs to spend more time on the mentality of his players...hard to know from outside.
“Yeah….nah””
Would be very disappointed now if the mods haven't banned this troll, especially after his "Weekend at Bernie's" comments.matrixcutter wrote:i believe u brought up his mum, after he posted the picture of the troll at the keyboard.lennyandkarl wrote: Don't go bringing your mum up on a footy forum then crying about it when people call you on it.

I've never quite understood the philosophy behind sacking a coach without giving him time to:
A) build the list he wants and
B) put in place a gameplan that reflects the list.
now on A) - many of you will say 'hang on, Ross inherited a good list'. WRONG. Ross inherited a list that in '04/'05 had the right combination but as a result of (1. changes to the game 2. retirements to experianced fringe players 3. players not improving as expected 4. few new players being introduced) has declined since.
as a result B) has never been given a chance to work. Ross throughout this year has realised that the cattle available cant reflect the gameplan he wants to produce. At the same time I think all this talk of a Sydney gameplan being implemented is abit over the top - some of the things from Sydney he has brought in but in reality its almost flattering to say we are playing like Sydney. In all honest I dont think our blokes would die for each other like the Sydney boys play - I could be proven wrong this weekend.
I'd give Ross another season. Most of you will jump on me for this. But I just dont see how sacking him is a positive move, especially without giving him a chance to build the side he wants.

Fully agree...and we should have been doing this a lot earlier.....and by this I mean last season...particularly Gram.saint66au wrote:

One of our biggest problems is that our midfield group does not run as deep as most good teams.
First quarter fade outs can possibly be simply because Hayes, Ball and a few others simply get overworked trying to overcom teams that rotate 10 players against them.
Like many I have been calling for Gram to be moved into the mid as an ouside mid.
Partly as we lack pace and run in the midfield...and partly as his poor defensive skills get punished in the backline.
Makes more sense to me to have in the midfield...than in trying to negate Aka!!!
