Goals to Dunne, Miles x 3, Gardiner, Allen and Rix. Scorps up by 2 goals.

7.2 vs 5.5

Silvagni getting towelled up by Gamble who has kicked all 3 of Geelong's goals.
Edit: Above was apparantly untrue by reports of those at the game, and that it was Howard on Gamble when he kicked his 3 goals.

Baker (still) only 1 or 2 touches. Allen, Miles, McQualter and Eddy playing well.

Trent West is killing us in the ruck.

Get your facts correct .If you were at the game Howard was on Gamble when he kicked 3 goals when Silvagni went on him he managed 1 goal. Wall and Silvagni have the least goals kicked against them in the comp. so far this year accord.to Hutchinson

Can anyone give me a better report on Luke Miles first game back from injury. I was a fan of his when he played for swan districts.

did he look like he was missing match fitness or did he manage to play the whole game? What position did he play?

I was only listening to a very scratchy radio broadcast at the dome

But he was at that point lining up for his 3 rd goal

the casey website will have a fuller report mid week- but just the fact he played seni0ors and not casey reserves would suggest he was fit enough.

Scrappy contest some physical foot from both sides and skills were well down.

Silvagni didn't get a bath, Miles looked alright, was managed throughout the game and only played 50-60% maybe?? buy shows some footy smarts, and seems to have the physical attributes. got dragged when attempting to take a hanger but got no where near it.

X didn't appear after half time, Baker was put on ice late. Raph showed improvement, Kyle Mathews had his best game for the year, but still looks limited with that knee injury from pre-season.

McQualter was the general and showed class and leadership, McEvoy did ok and Allen took some really strong grabs across half forward.

Bakes was a management thing, i would say, the Physio went out to him a few times and he stayed on the ground.
Come off the ground mabe 2/3 through the last term but didn't ice until the last few minutes.

I saw X pull up a bit short woth the Hammy, don't want to speculate but it's not overly promising, i suppose we will find out more in the week to come. Before this he was doing quite well.

Radio commentary (3SER) had Silvagni on Gamble at the start, and then stated Wall moved onto him.

He may have but then Gamble went to the forward flank on Howard and thats when he produced his 3 goal score brilliant passing by the Geelong players right on his chest .

report of the game now up
http://www.scorpions.com.au/latest/late ... venom.html

Scorpions show their venom
DESPITE playing one short for most of the first half, the Casey Scorpions proved too strong for Geelong, running away with a 39-point win at Casey Fields on Sunday.

Midfielder Aaron Fiora was being considered as a late inclusion for St Kilda before making a dash to Cranbourne to play a starring role in the Scorpions’ triumph. >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>

Fiora must have dominated to get in the best. According to the report he only played the second half

We were playing a couple short with Bakes and X reinjuring themselves. That said, Geelong were fielding essentially a local district side, so it's disappointing we didn't smash them.
