Darren Cresswell
I hear he resigned as tassie devils coach today, would we consider him to help rock out as a midfield coach.
He was a real hardnut and tough player so he may impart a bit of hardness on our playing group.
Dont know if he was popular or any good as the devils coach but I do remember his hardness as a player.
Anyway it's just a thought, and westaway said we still needed to rebuild our off field football resources.

Don't know much about the guy. Quitting as coach mid season sends alarm bells !!Langi wrote:I hear he resigned as tassie devils coach today, would we consider him to help rock out as a midfield coach.

Supposedly he was high on our coaching short list.
Had it not been for that unfortunate publicity he might well have been our coach instead of Ross

I've been pretty hard on the case against Barker in favour of Terry Daniher. He's an assistant at Carlton at the moment, I wonder if he could be lured back to the Saints, probably not given the way he was treated by the club in the past.skeptic wrote:Ne1 else think that we haven't had a better forward coach than Terry Daniher.

That was Gt though, apparently Terry fell asleep at a seminar organized by Gt and that was the endOtiman wrote:I've been pretty hard on the case against Barker in favour of Terry Daniher. I agree. And GTs decision to move him to backline coach seemed to be change for the sake of change. Never looked as good up forward as when he had them.skeptic wrote:Ne1 else think that we haven't had a better forward coach than Terry Daniher... seriously since he left our forward line has been a shamble and all of a sudden up steps Fevola and the carlton forwards

headline on WWOS- network that has TWO AFL based football programs and based in the city from which the said player/coach had originated.
andif they took it from the wires wouldn;t you think they could copy and paste?Another hit: Blues defence further weakenedNo desire: Kreswell quits as Tassie coach

Says it all there really.Launcestonsaint wrote:From the Examiner (Launceston newspaper) today, "Creswell said that AFL Tasmania unwillingness to guarantee he would be coaching the Devils next year prompted his decision to quit."
What would prospective employers think of that, if true.

Just on TD ( i remember following it closely at the time)
the contention was that he was very limited in his ability... as in there was only so much he coult teach AND that he had corporately embarrassed the club on a number of occassions with his falling asleep being the last straw...
IMO we should go for him especially if he's not coaching anywhere else... the 2 things i remember when he was forward coach were that the G-Train had his best season ever (as did all of our forwards for that matter) and our set shots were as good as I've ever seen.
I remembered noting in 2006 that GT's huge drop in performance as coach coincided with the departures of Burke and TD...
