He invented a motor mower that levitated itself off the ground by means of an air current generated by its rotating blades. The effect was if it was floating on a cushion of air, making it very light to manouver over surfaces.
Unfortunately, because of an un-noticed printers error, the mower was marketed under a slightly different name and he never got the recognition he deserved.

Not sacked, but was not popular (according to R Davis anyway). Liked the farm too much apparently.
