The Positives....
I dont know why but Im not bleeding after this loss - why? never expected to win...take a look at our Gabba record...it aint great.....
BTW IF YOU JUST WANNA BE NEGATIVE....PLEASE PICK ANOTHER OF THE VARIOUS THREADS....
While I dont enjoy losing by 10 goals there's some light at the end of the tunnell IMHO. Heres what I think IS good about this game:
1. List - heat well and truly on suspect players - there really is nowhere to hide. At least we will know by season end who can cut it and who can cut it elsewhere....
2. Coach - Nice to see Lyon bare some fangs in his press conference - it needed to be said ..we have soft players.
3. Player development - HAS to happen now. Its been neglected for years - we do not bring enough second tier players on and since 04 have been poor
4. Leadership..its a problem...we have to fix it.
5. Robert Harvey - Im sorry you ghave to once again show ALL why your a legend.
I am dissapointed we play melb this week...and not Collingwood........a win against the D's (should we manage this) only serves to paper over cracks.....
We sit 4-5 - its where I expected us to be. All is not lost.

I realise our record up there is crappy.
And I admit I didn't tip us to win.
But I at least expected us to have a go.
The 46 point margin understated our complete capitulation.
Against Richmond, Collingwood and now Brisbane we have been soft.
Our opponents have wanted the ball a lot more than we did.
And we don't do the one percenters to back each other up.
And our disposal is lamentable.

The rest of Australia can wander mask-free, socialise, eat out, no curfews, no zoning, no police rings of steel, no illogical inconsistent rules.

No ones denying that SR so you could probably save that for the other threads...saintsRrising wrote:Teflon..with due respect...we sucked big time today...anything else is spin I am afraid.
That aside there is ALWAYS a positive.
I didnt expect us ti win today - yes effort - but not a win and Im in some way comfortable that some of those PRETENDING to be AFL footballers have been exposed. THATS a good thing.
Now to do something about it and thats where the heat comes on Lyon.

It was a beautiful day today. SEQ at it's finest.
Managed to get a great parking spot too and not cop a fine (rare for me when I go to the GABBA).
Ran into an old friend when entering the ground that I hadn't seen for 3 years who had travelled up for the day.
Was at least a positive start to the day.

Birss has shown on numerous occasions that he can snag a goal which is great. He has a go for sure but lacks the polish unfortunately...cowboy18 wrote:Good point - Ross has created the goal kicking midfielder we so crave in Birss. (I'm staying positive, I'm at that stage of working through the effort today)
