So...what's the solution. I wouldn't have thought any supporter in their right mind would want a rudderless club less than half-way through a season, sitting on the verge of the eight, no matter how cruddy their performance.JeffDunne wrote:So we support Lyon because he's not GT or because GT was worse?
Some logic there.
We are currently the worst coached side in the league.
We are also the worst prepared team in the league.
Despite 2 preseasons, 2 drafts & 31 games in charge, it's GT's fault we played like we did today?
FFS, that's the sort of spin I expect from political parties, not supporters of a football team.
Where are all the Lyon supporters now ?

Poor Ross has very little to work with atm.
MMM i wonder why he has so little to work with?
Our list has been going backwards since 2004 and now poor Ross is getting it in the neck.
100 PERCENT ROSS LYON 100 PERCENT OF THE TIME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Just because Walls offered it to him?
If the players are that crap then he should have told the previous board we need to rebuild. Does our drating/trading suggest he was rebuilding?
Can't he judge talent?

TWICE
"respected him as a person"
Not as a coach. Not as a tactician. Not as a leader.
as a person.

Turn the heat up on soft, underperforming players and lets at least identify and cut the loafers from this list.
My only players exempt from some heat would be Lenny, Harvey Max, S Fisher.
Id delist the following:
Fiora
Gwilt
Rix
Mqualter
Raph
For a start......id trade some names also but thats for another day..

Don't forget that with last years selections that:Saints43 wrote:

*McEvoy as a ruckmen was a pick for the future...not this year
*That Steven and Eljay were both lower age picks...so again were never players for this year.
Realistically all three picks are for not this year, or even next...but to deliver value from 2010 on.
With this lot being long term picks...one can understand why he also did the other trades....though realistically this was one pick...

I would not cut them from the list....but Dal and Joey only landed one tackle between them.

That makes me grind my teeth. And this is RL's fault? It's these guys who should be getting a canning on this forum...I don't care how 'depressed' they get...they can go sit in the car and have a good hard think about why we think they're as hard as a bunch of netballers.saintsRrising wrote:I would not cut them from the list....but Dal and Joey only landed one tackle between them.
RL's right to have pointed this problem out publically, so these guys know they're on notice, not only within the club, but to their entire supporter base. It's how RL deals with it I'll be very interested to see.

or is it easier just to selectively quote?

You said that Andrew Thompson said "how much he respected Lyon after playing under him"
That's quite different to him saying TWICE that he "played under Ross Lyon and respected him as a person."
We both agree that he said that the coach would be given his chance.

he respects the guy - are trying to INTIMATE that he thinks hes a cr@p coach? cause he didnt say that and I wont support that.
Geezus some have no nerve in this joint
Why dont you use some of that energy and point the finger at some soft c@ck players who take the cash and cant lay a friggin tackle FFS!

Why would he TWICE specifically add "as a person' when people were ringing SEN complaining about his coaching before the game?
You know what? This is a f'all issue.
Here we go:
I reckon Ross Lyon is a useless coach.
Why do you believe he isn't?
Here's my openeing argument:
We are below Carlton.
I reckon our list management from 2004 onwards might just be better than theirs.

His comments in regard to increasing forwardline pressure, hard ball gets, too many passengers, blah, blah, blah...it's been going on for weeks now, so I'd imagine the game plan to a free running side line Brisbane wouldn't have been to leave them unaccounted. The fact that that happened, it was a nice sunny day and a few of the boys needed a tan.JeffDunne wrote:What commente were they?degruch wrote:Given his recent comments, and those today, I'd say it's not his fault then.JeffDunne wrote:If players are instructed to run to space rather than attack the player with the pill . . . then yes it is the coaches fault.

They're mentally soft and it's tough for the coach to turn that around mid-season, especially with our record in Brissy. I'm looking forward to the culling of the weak and a home match against a competitive Demons.

Dempster - absolute spud, who an't kick to position, beat his man one on one, lay a tackle or even hit a team mate with a handball
Schneider - disinterested, one sided, slow minded, overrated, can't tackle and massive downhill skier
Are they part of the Lyon stamp on his list?
