Why drop Charlie?
I am surprised that nearly every poster proposing changes for this week is dropping Charlie and that the general sentiment always is that he is not up to much.
He had little impact and made a few errors last week so, yes, a bad game.
But prior to that I thought he had been really good. What's with dropping a guy for one bad game? Or do folks suspect there is some fundamental flaw that means he won't cut it longer term? As I say, from what I have seen he has performed well in the game time he has been given and I think he brings something (forward leading up the ground/link man) that few in the team (that don't have other roles e.g. Rielwoldt) are equally suited for.

Mistakes mistakes mistake.
I think I counted his first four posession against four directly resulted in turnovers.
Either putting his team mate under pressure, kicking it to the wrong contest or just stuffing up period.
And he seems to be awful around goals.
Maybe just a confidence thing, new side, selection pressure....Because he was talented during the NAB cup!!!

its more to do with him going missing for large chunks of the game mistakes are going to happen he is only human and you can ssort of excuse it if the pressure is on but you cant afford to have a bloke go missing altogether during the game we carry too many passangers so if he cant get into the game he shouldnt be selected for the game

We didn't have to recruit him, we were given him. King/Gardiner deal remember? Geelong has about 13 Charlie Gardiners, so he had to get the flick from their list.
Anyway, he's not too bad I reckon...8 games in and he's booted a few goals, made a few plays, certainly not the worst going 'round. There's a lot worse 'why did we recuit's out there. During the NAB Cup he seemed to work well in conjunction with other younger players like Allen and Geary...pehaps we have a team within a team structure issue???

It's funny you say that. In one of the very early NAB games he played he took a mark and fell to the ground. He handballed very quickly while still on his knees and numb nuts Walls said, "see that quick handball, That's a result of his time at Geelong. Moving the ball quickly. That will be good for St Kilda"maverick wrote:Drop him because he rarely gets the ball and when he does, he's too slow....
I think that was the last time I saw it happen

What about MILNE?
If we want to talk about mistakes costing the team I saw MILNE make 8 shockers in the first half... an number of them costing us goals.
SAINTS another day older another day closer to the Holy Grail!

Yeah but Milne is always making mistakes, people forget cause he does something amazing every once in a while. Frustrating player Milne you don't know whether to hug him or strangle him.WinnersOnly wrote:If we want to talk about mistakes costing the team I saw MILNE make 8 shockers in the first half... an number of them costing us goals.
