SENsaintsational wrote:Hindsight is great, but I'm on record (maybe not here but elsewhere) saying that comebacks rarely work. Player has mentally made a big call. Unless they have age on their side (like Stuart Dew maybe) it's very very hard.

Look at those who have tried and failed:
- Tony Lockett
- Ali
- Carl Lewis
- Michael Jordan

Mentally as well as physically, when your time is up, it's up.

My point is that Ross should've been looking to the future anyway.
Your been a little harsh on MJ there.....

He won 3 Titles after his first comeback.

During his second comeback @ the age of 40

01/02 - He averaged 23 points, 5 Rebounds & 5 assists a game.
02/03 - He played all 82 games and averaged 20, 6 & 4.

Hardly a failure in my books.

Yeah, but MJ wasn't the Air Jordan of old.

Warnie is one who I would back to make it work, given he is a freak.

Take Otiman's point that it was a calculated gamble, financially speaking.

Still think it was backward looking though.

getting back on topic, SEN says G Train about to be out on the LTI list... Best outcome IMO otherwise we end up a player short, god knows with our injury luck we may need him to play later on....

And the president said " I did not have sex with that woman"

I think it's a very wise move to place him on that list. I felt a little sorry for Gehrig when I watched "Before (or After) The Game" the other night. He certainly didn't come across as a player who simply wanted to "fill-in" time. I hope he finds his feet soon.

When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
