I'm not sure if this is still true, although my memory suggests that it is, but i

remember late in the 2006 season, the commentators saying that we'd never

won a game under GT in which we were losing by 21 points.

It's over.

Has anything changed?

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

You need to protect the ball handler to increase posession efficiency

I totaly agree, we suck big time, our structure is not there, it seems as if it is under 12 football .....hope the ball falls into our players hands.

Aussie Bears, how many threads do you want to start with only a couple of words, saying pretty much the same thing every single time.

You have this thread, you have your rabble thread, you have your how the hell thread

We get the picture! you are a doom sayer and the world is coming to an end.
I promise you that the sun will raise in the morning and the saints will play another game next week.

Sheees it really is not that bad.

ROFL at the optimism at this site - people think that a side which is 4-4 and doesn't work as a team has a chance at a flag.

Comedy gold :)

Never said we are a chance to win the flag, but I don't think its world ending like some posters make it out to be.

People can pick parts out of the game and make it like its all bad, but don't point out any of the good points. Anyone would think we played 120 minutes of bad footy tonight.... Clearly that was not the case, but some posters try to make it sound like it.

We lost by 9, not 90. We played some good footy in parts tonight, if we could only string 4 qrts together it would make a world of difference

You've stepped on a crucial point. When a team can't play four quarters of the game they are payed handsomely to play, isn't that quite a substantial issue that has crept in under RL?

Serious question:

If you're not in contention for a premiership, nor building to win one in the future, what are you doing?

They are the only two phases I am believe a team should be in. That we are again in neither I find quite disconcerting.

Injuries hurt us tonight, but you're right, the depth we have - even I thought we had at the start of the year - is wafer thin.

Blake, R Clarke, Birss, L Fisher...just nothing players who don't contribute.

Very harsh on Blake. Was in the best tonight and as a tall back doesnt need to get a lot of possessions like a midfielder.

Who says Lyon isnt building to win a flag?

What did we turn over last year - 5 or 6 ? .....cant turn them all over but its a fair start.

When people start to realise this side AINT the 04/05 St Kilda we can all get back to focussing on Premierships instead of hanging on to our "glory days" which consisted of 10 wins in a row (wooo hoo.... - f@Rk we even released a DVD.....).

Turn over the duds. Recruit players WHO CAN kick a football, hit a target and kick 50mtrs.

LOL well I being a very non confrontational sort always like to embrace whats offered instead of getting all expectant on actual results...I reckon I can sit back and bag other Saints "supporters" being negative all throughout our next 3 years in the bottom 8

Nope I reckon we will handily lose that one also...stupidly not letting the talking a good gamre regardless of not playing one asffect me, because we certainly cant play one.

In hindsight I accept he played a part and it was probably unfair to include him in that list, but over the course of the past three years, I cannot believe that he has any role to play in the future of this club. He does occaisonally play a reasonable stopping role, but it's all too sporadic.

He just doesn't offer nearly enough. Delist.
