I noticed that....
Nobody on here seemed to mention that GT on SEN monday morning revealed that he used.....wait for it......
Robert Walls
as his mentor early on in his coaching career.
Apparently he didn't flick him because he was no good, but because Throbbie was also "mentoring" other AFL coaches.
I found that fact very revealing considering the vitriol and hate the Grant Thomas fans have for Throbbie.
The usual suspects like mischa and St. Kunny the substance abuser have been very outspoken in their condemnation of Mr Throbbie, but suddenly it has been revealed that their idol used the man to teach him how to coach
Oh dear....what have the GT doll worshippers have to say about this startling piece of info???
Oh GT has gone - move on

There comes a point in every man's life when he has to say, "Enough is enough." For me, that time is now. I have been dealing with claims that I cheated and had an unfair advantage in <redacted>. Over the past three years, I have been subjected to a <redacted>investigation followed by <redacted> witch hunt. The toll this has taken on my family, and my work for <redacted>and on me leads me to where I am today – finished with this nonsense. (Oops just got a spontaneous errection <unredacted>)

Probably talked to Walls so he could compile a list of what not to do, hence GT was a good coach because he did the opposite of what Walls said.

Awww come on guys - I'm not trying to start a fight, I want a genuine discussion of the relevant facts
Stop trying to stifle my human rights and freedom of speech.
I'm not trolling, I am asking a thought provoking question.
I thought this was a forum to discuss relevant football matters.
Have i missed any of the usual cliches???
Still haven't seen any response to GT using the hated anti Saints man, the guy who single handedly got GT sacked and again single handedly recruited Rossy Lyon to the club ( as a fith columnist to "punish" us or so goes the conspirarcy theory from some of the more excitable of the GT doll worshippers) just because we didn't have any ruckman.
Well come on GT fans, what do you think of the great man using footballs equivilent of satan as a mentor?
Am waiting with bated breath.
Oh Gt has gone move on (but Throbbie may still be in the background pulling Rossys strings )

Re: I noticed that....
I find it interesting given the hate and vitriol Wallsy directed at St. Kilda in GT's later years. I also find it interesting that he's become pro-St. Kilda since RL's appointment almost to an embarrassing degree. Could it be the best way to get Wallsy onside is to throw him a token job every few years?joffaboy wrote:I found that fact very revealing considering the vitriol and hate the Grant Thomas fans have for Throbbie.

GT was actually one of StKilda's best players in the early 80's and he won state selection as CHB,i still can't figure out how he played less than 100 games and played for 3 clubs,i mean, the year he was good he was very good...............
Oh Yeah..................Who's Robert Walls ?
Oh Yeah..................Who's Robert Walls ?
How many defenders will The Saints pick in the 2024 draft ?
Big deal. This is old news. GT also said it in an interview around 2002 (for an Age Good Weekend Magazine piece) As for what it proves....hmmmmm lets see that GT is a class act for acknowledging the old bastard and Walls and the AFL mafia are scum...there you go, not too difficult Also like the fact that GT didn't seem to mind being the target of the media, as it would take pressure off of the players. Now the players are simply being thrown to the wolves...
