Saints will finish with only 31,500.
Telstra Dome is not conducive to large club memberships.
Too many empty seats are taken by AFL members, Medallion Club, Access One Premium and Access One.
The empty Medallion Club and Access One Premium seats have the best viewing in the stadium.

Have to agree. Essendon only have 40000. And Geelong have 33000 and their ground holds 25000.

With only 30,369 members so far this year, I reckon we won't even reach last years figure of 30,950 the way things are going let alone reach the target of 35,000 or the '06 record 32,327 - we are going backwards in the membership stakes at a rapid rate.
Fancy being out membered by North Melbourne, thats how bad we are going and we can only blame the Membership Department (and Archie) for the lack of promotion and marketing/advertising experienced this year for the disgraceful result so far.
With a reported 380,000 supporters, wouldn't you think we could capture at least 10% as Members.
There is not much time left, about 7 weeks, before the books are closed so Membership, get your backsides into gear and start some promotion although it's proberbly too late now - the horse has bolted.

damn straight!!!.

where the hell did they get the figure that 380000 people are saints supporters?
because if there are 380000 supporters then we should have 380000 members.
if u are a supporter then u are a member. period, no ifs and buts.
if u arent a member then u are not a SUPPORTER of the club.

the word SUPPORT means exactly that, support the club (in this case financially thru membership).
way i see it, we have just over 30000 supporters....not 380000

You need to consider the level of support and the financial circumstances of supporters too. Having 8-10% of supporters as members would be about middle of the road amongst AFL clubs. If anyone has any ideas on how we could get that percentage a bit higher I'm sure Ben Hall & Archie Fraser would welcome their constructive input !! !!

look im not having a dig at anyones posts in this thread.
all im saying is that if u are a supporter of your football team then u should be doing just that...supporting them.
supporter doesnt mean thats who u like to see win, or even who u follow in the afl.....supporter means just what it says....and the way we as fans support our fav club is to buy a membership...hence supporter.
all the others are just fans.
and i know people on the dole that are members of their footy club so finance would be a tiny % for a reason.
christ if u are that hard up for money ask for a member ship for xmas or ya birthday.
im not saying anything about how to get it risen or how to get more supporters..........what i said was we dont have 38000 supporters, we have 380000 fans and out of that 38000 we have a support base of around 30000.

its the first question i ask when i get bagged out in the street, the shop, at work for having the saint kilda top on:
Me:"so who do u support?"
Other: "port"
Me: "so u are a member then?"
Other: "nah we dont get down there much"
Me: "well when u can say u SUPPORT your club we'll talk about footy and hell i'll even let u bag me for SUPPORTING the saints"
...end of convo.

supporters i like and have time for, no matter what team they give their money too.....fans just generally piss me off

30,507 members as at the 29th May is shown on the desk at Head Office.
That is a disgrace Sainters, only 71 new members in 17 days. We are third last on the Membership Table and it has all come about because of a lack of advertising, marketing, promotion from the Club. I am bitterly disappointed.
Are there any honost posters on this site who will admit to not joining up this year!

HAWTHORN has signed 40,000 ticketed members, the club announced yesterday, making it just the third Victorian club to pass the milestone.

Collingwood and Carlton also passed 40,000 ticketed members this year, and Essendon has topped that number, though not all of its are ticketed members.

Ticketed members are given access to games, while non-ticketed are regarded as a pledge of support.

Hawthorn's membership record is an increase of almost 9000 on last year
.

thanks go sainters go it is sad,

Go Sainters Go.... I will admit - I didn't re-sign this year.... my reasons??

New baby arriving last year, meaning my opportunities to go are greatly reduced.

The need to purchase a new (larger) home for a family to happily grow up in, compounded by increasing interest rates..

Becoming a 1-income family.

I'm sad to say, my trips to watch the Saints in person will be very limited until the little fella is old enough to go (hopefully in 4-5 years).

Was taken to my first game when I was 6 weeks old.

If you're gonna teach em to blead red black and white then you've gotta start early.

As for the finances i'm sure there are a few options available to help you get to maybe 5 home games.

I'm not suggesting you go every week, but to not go at all is a bit over the top in my opinion.

Take the missus and the young pup along!

THE Hawthorn Football Club will celebrate their record-breaking membership season on Friday night when they take on the West Coast Eagles at the MCG.

reported on SEN just now that Saints membership is around 31,000

record is 32,000+ ( would link to WOM page but :() )
but from reports a up to 2,000 were soemtimes involved in the major sponsorships, this is not so with the new sponsors,

Bulldogs with a great year are still last on the victorian lists with around 27,000
melbourne have smashed their record too- got 1,000 + in the last week- now over 28,000

last was held by North for ages - but all the media at start of eyar got them up to around 33,000

CLOSE OF MEMBERSHIP COUNT is END of JUNE
still time to donate to the club
