Are we allowed to give Richmond any credit??
I know its generally frowned upon to say anything positive about the team we've just played, but I thought Richmond played very well tonight
Smashed us at hard ball gets and clearances. They are a different side to the easyeats of the last few years. They will trouble many sides this year. I see them as us in 2003.
Thought it was a pretty high standard contest tonight, appallingly umpired until the last 15 mins when the umps mercifully put the whistles away. Both sides had a red-hot crack and the last qurater was the best contest Ive watched St Kilda involved in this year. Pulsating footy

Yep spot on and don't forget they ran the hawks last week to within 2 goals and i don't wanna hear this poor kicking kept them in the game business pressure can coz bad kicking.
The tigers are on the up. if they could hit targets more often look out competition. i no that's stating the obvious

Yeah, this was one of the few times when I actuallly felt sorry for an opposition team.
Gotta admit the victory felt a little hollow, but I'll take it over a loss.
If Jack Riewoldt or the other rookie (who hit the post) converted, there'd be a few fans dressing in saffari suits for some Lyon hunting.

I don't think we did. Hopefully though, far from it.
I'd say this is a pretty pleasing sign

More likely you need to see your proctologist because your 'brown' one appears 'blocked' and is apparently giving you severs discomfort.plugger66 wrote:No what I like is having 2 eyes. Seriously, this playing badly and winning bulls*** and being ecstatic about it is a myth.
You shouldn't be pleased at all when you haven't played well. Don't confuse the emotion of 'relief' with feeling 'pleased'

as I said before
our talent > richmonds talent
richmonds discipline > our discipline.
you pretty much struggle to find a richmond player not close to, or at their potential, but you can see a fair wack of saints players, playing way of what we know they can play at.
Im pretty sure a fair few sides were glad we didn't make the finals in 07, and were glad we got injury ravaged in 06, pretty much only melbourne thought they were better than us.
our problems are cohesion and discipline. we play as a collection of superbly talented individuals, (with the exception of about 1/2 a dozen players) whereas hawthorn, geelong, and even richmond play as a team.

What does that mean?my les foote wrote:Damn! I thought we won.Spinner wrote:I thought they shut down our midfield extremely effectively.
And they smashed us at the clearances too. They were all just quality out of the center too, running, breaking free.
Compared to our own performance, I think they played brilliantly.
