Will definitely hold his spot.
As someone said none of his posessions were easy and considerig he caie in as a late replacement for Max did a pretty good job.
However doesn't matter what Raph does the usual suspects will pot him.
Pretty piss weak after such a mertitorious win.

The guy was terrible, no excuses, what sort of depth do we have if he gets a gig? Give Allen a go..give anyone a go.Eastern wrote:Have a look at how we scored our 1st three goals. Raph had a hand in all three.perfectionist wrote:Had a shocker of a first half but improved a lot in the second.
Yes, he made some blues again tonight, but I would describe his game a servicable. Definately NOT our worst tonight !!
Agreed it was he who had the ball in the dying seconds and instead of screwing around with the ball did the right thing and kicked down the line played well better than some!mad saint guy wrote:Raph wasn't bad tonight. Anyone who has any would realise Raph played a pretty good game tonight.
At one stage I wanted him to return to Darwin and never come back, but then I noticed that his good efforts were much better than the bad ones.
Raph must have the same opinion of his game as some of the more deluded posters here. He backs himself to shrug every tackle or weave out of trouble - yet I've never seen him do either.
Oppostiton coaches should simply instruct their players to kick it to him, he's sure to cough it up for a free or worse.
I would put him in the same pile as Murray or Rix, a very good VFL player who cannot cut in the big league. Please no more, I'm already going grey.

Cause they outnumber the positives so much...anyway to tell the truth I would prefer Raph there than the soft outside reciever that is Gram, he is so pathetic I dont even feel the need to enumerate them atm....drop the freaking DROSS guysBernard Shakey wrote:He had many great possessions and disposals to the advantage of his teammates. Why do you lot only see the negatives?
He goes in hard and tackles well, in fact I think he was the leading tackler on the ground tonight, and even his skills aren't that bad, but he makes so many blunders because he is just so indecisive and such a bad decision maker when he rarely gets round to making one. Could have been great sav for this one flaw, but is too much of a liability now.
I'm not sure if anyone listned to ABC's pre-game this afternoon but they were discussing that decision making is more important than skills, and that you can be a very good player if you know how to make a good decision under pressure ven if you aren't the best kick, but its very difficult vica versa. Raph is a prime example of this.

To me he looks a deadset forward.
Hes no defender. Hes better with his decision making when he can create rather than react to the immediate type of pressure down back.
Why not give him a go?
He also looks capable in the air.......and taking a third maybe fourh best defender he could slip under some sides guards...why not?

I was at this game and Raph was terrible. Absolutely terrible. Did a couple of good things but overall was shocking. His mistakes were atrocious and definatly should not be playing at AFL level if his form from this game continues. Wake up.

Only one person in the AFL could find himself 15 meters clear of any opposition players with the ball 55m out and then slip over - Raphael Clarke.Huzzad wrote:I see why they call you the mad saint guy....mad saint guy wrote:Raph wasn't bad tonight. Was terrible tonight, couldnt keep his feet, couldnt shrug a tackle, kept getting caught with the ball. Richmond supporters around me loved him.
Would be shocked if he is still in the side next week.

Funny how people see things in different ways...IMO Raph was terrible tonight.....with way to many mistakes when under little or no pressure.
Raph I am afraid is not a "smart" player....and as soon as he has to think about what he is doing often freezes.
Sure he did some good things......and he knows how to rush behinds.....but while anyone can and do make mistakes...Raph simply makes way too many. And not just tonight...this has occured in all of his senior games this year.
Twice when he space he stalled.....and was caught when he should not have been.
In the last seconds of the game it was chipped it to him....and rather than chip it back as to Saint alone he instead took off and kicked long to a pack of players...to see it rebound.....and give the Tigers a last gas shot at goal.
Great option if you need to score to win...but no smart football when you havea lead to protect.
Geary would be a better option at present.

The problem with Raph is he doesn't have a football brain.
And he refuses to take the first option.
So everytime he gets the ball, he ignores the first option.
Looks for something better.
Runs himself into trouble.
And then either coughs it up.
Or kicks wildly.
My heart is in my mouth every time he gets the ball.
Sure he has some skills.
But some of his mistakes tonight kept Richmong in the game.
HE HAS TO BE DROPPED !!!!!!!!!!!!!

You people weren't watching the game.
Raph was in our top ten tonight.
There is a real agenda going on with Raph.
He could have a 40 possession game kick 5 goals make ten tackles and you blokes would still pot him.
Pitiful.

Yes I had a great view at the game.....joffaboy wrote:

if you watch the game again you might be surprised.
As I mentioned he did some good things....but also made way too many unecessary and damaging mistakes.
well if he did that would be great..but he did not.joffaboy wrote: He could have a 40 possession game kick 5 goals make ten tackles and you blokes would still pot him.

Raph....is in the dud basket with Rix.
This is the most accurate post I have ever read, spot on. Just one point I dont agree on, "he has to be dropped". Yes he has to be droppped............... FOR EVER........... He costs us to many goals, and I am fed up with him..............Enrico_Misso wrote:The problem with Raph is he doesn't have a football brain.
