I do not have a clue just reporting about Woody. It may not even be Rooy or it may be just incase something happens.LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:Ok i'm convinced Roo won't play now thanks for the heads up plugger informative as always when it comes to selectionplugger66 wrote:Have a bad feeling about Rooy playing. official team v port adelaide
I like the side as picked
great to have bakes back from cruxifiction and happy with birss for cj
i must watch grammy more closely when hes not directly involved in the play though, as i thought he went ok last week except for some of his sprayed kicks, least our blokes are half expecting it
rixxy best option we have if they've obviously ruled out the GT/ Kozzi move
and whats wrong with freeing up bj and let chips cover treadray?
i realize i'm just an old fart and a bit if a newbie, but someone help me out as to the "weather"....whether i pray for the rain forcast or not?
hell knows we need it here up in the bush
But how will this line up stack up against PA if its going to be a wet night ?
Will it reduced their probable ruck advantage and so help our mids a bit?
????

Re: official team v port adelaide
I would suggest that as we lost by 10 goals last year in the wet we do not want it wet this year. Not sure we have a say in it.starsign wrote:I like the side as picked

They said that Round 3 when Gardiner was a 'late withdrawal'.
They said that last year, when he ended up missing the entire year.
So it is like last year, out for one but actually miss 6.solar wrote:yep, they never expected them back and if it's not progressing for either they will rest them another week and bring them back a fortnight later for the pies match (taking advantage of the weeks break)

Im a bit scared of our ins to be honest.
Baker no worries.
With the rest of the side being reasonably settled I would have preferred youth and risk over 2 guys who with all due respect I dont think are best 22. Took the very safe and unimaginative option IMO.
Would have liked to have sen 2 of McEvoy, Geary, Allen, Raph, Gwilt or Steven included.
Still think we will win if we are hardest at the ball and I trust all 3 inclusions to be hard.

Maybe this year?
[It depends on what you class a good game if getting cheep kicks in the backline and basically staying away from the contest, giving half efforts and wimpy tackles , being flat footed at almost every stoppage and then butchering the ball every time you kick it then yeah grammy had a blinder Rolling Eyes but i would rather our players go in hard, win the ball ,chase the player ,get to the contest, lay the tackle and make it stick even if they cant kick]
I like CJ too and have been disappointed with Gram so far but CJ didn't lay a tackle last week and barely had a stat after quarter time (aside from a shocking set shot). Birss deserved his spot ahead of him and will struggle to hold it if Schneider comes back next week.[/quote]

As I have said ad infinitum, Jason Blake is our make capable ruckman - he gets the ball to the ground and then provides the fourth person around the ball. Start looking at the game! Get a DVD recorder and replay at slo mo if you are unable to see at normal speed. It's him who needs support from Rix who should just use his enormous body to crash into opposition players in the hope that he does them some damage. Other than that he is 100% hopeless.
no it's completely different, not sure if you have ever had to deal with injuries or sickness but each case is different.Saintschampions08 wrote:Oh bulls***.ralphysaints35 wrote:They said during the week we expect gardiner, schneider back following week against richmond didnt theymidas_touch wrote:Still no M Gardiner - don't tell me this is gonna be another case of M Gardiner 2 weeks.

Lyon is on record that they would be very cautious when it came to the big two ruckman. He even hinted they would play one and rest one. Lyon admitted that gardiner and schneider have not responded as well as expected, with schneider only passing a certain part of his rehab at tuesdays training session. There are certain markers for rehab on injuries and every player responds in their own way. It depends on their size, weight, muscle make up, injury history and how hard/soft they work in rehab.
You also need to look at this long term, especially with the reliance on bench players as part of huge rotations. We cannot afford to have a player go down during a game, thus they have gone conservative (see goose and BJ).
I would hazard a guess (hard to know when I'm not their doctor or trainer) that schneider will play against the tigers and we will have both ruckman back 2 weeks later (after the state of origin game) against the pies.

I think Lade might just break McEvoy in half, given his tender years. I'd be keen to see Geary or Allen in instead of Birss, but Birss isn't too bad.rexy wrote:Im a bit scared of our ins to be honest.

Strikes me that the ins include a couple of more mature players (aside from the ruckman for injured ruckman).
Probably not a bad go against Port - not as much raw legspeed as the bombers, but more mature bodies around the ball. Especially if wet, looks once again like Ross is true to his word and has picked a team specifically for this game. Getting to like this, we are not predictable, we are selecting according to perceived (by the match committee) need, and seemingly players have to earn promotion from the ressies.
Be interesting to see what the line-up would look like sans injuries, I would reckon it may surprise some of us.
