Change Pie game to the G
wouldnt it be nice if the saints could play infront of a packed MCG on a friday night and also stratch their legs and get a lungful of fresh air instead of being cooped up in the disadvantaged venue that is the TD. i think we all know that saints pies would draw a huge crowd at the G, so voice it sainters and give our boys a taste of what to expect come september

what do you mean half the supporters wont get in, the idea of it is that MORE supporters get in. and it would still be a home game because the AFL CAN switch venues and it would still be the teams home game. also everytime we play collingwood its a sell out at the dome and half the supporters dont get in at our 'homeground' match anyways

It aint going to happen. They havent switched venues for at least 3 years now and with contracts they have with stadiums it will not happen.hayes4captain wrote:wouldnt it be nice if the saints could play infront of a packed MCG on a friday night and also stratch their legs and get a lungful of fresh air instead of being cooped up in the disadvantaged venue that is the TD. i think we all know that saints pies would draw a huge crowd at the G, so voice it sainters and give our boys a taste of what to expect come september

Re: Change Pie game to the G
Only a Collingwood troll would ask to move our home game from the undercover TD to teh open-air MCG where more of the filth could get in.hayes4captain wrote:wouldnt it be nice if the saints could play infront of a packed MCG on a friday night and also stratch their legs and get a lungful of fresh air instead of being cooped up in the disadvantaged venue that is the TD. i think we all know that saints pies would draw a huge crowd at the G, so voice it sainters and give our boys a taste of what to expect come september
If every club did that no one would play at Telstra. TBH I'd rather Telstra than the G but I know others feel differently. I dont think it makes alot od difference where you play before the finals. Look how many interstate sides have won the flag in the last few years.hayes4captain wrote:well then we should look for an alternative homeground, one where we can actually play at come finals

no
keep it at the Dome!
we have the advantage as this will be the pies first game at the Dome for the year, and they cant train there either, so it will be their first time the steep foot onto that oval since round 22 last year, while it will be our 8th (including nab games)

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

If we don't push we'll be taken for granted
Demetriou and his gang will only take the Saints seriously if we keep pushing for a better deal. This is evidence that we see ourselves as a club that seeks to excel not just make up the numbers.
Of coarse Saint Kilda should have a home game against Collingwood at the 'G' That should be our blockbuster The likes of essendon and the pies already have their money spinner working nicely to keep they at an advantage to the other melbourne teams. Personally i am tired of the bombers/ pies anzac day domination. I don' watch it anymore. I remember in the 90s watching Saint Kilda beat Collingwood by a point in front of 92,000 at the 'G'. Bring that back.
Punish the port Sainters.

The boy can play and we can build a defence around him that will have respect.
St.kilda are too stupid to ask for a switch to the MCG. I have been arguing this point ever since we moved to the dome but knuckle heads on this site disagree.
We should always play Collingfilth and Essendung at the MCG. This is where the Grand Final is played and this is where we should get used to playing.

The MCG is by far a better ground/stadium/atmosphere than the Telstra Dome.
It is a shame people will miss out on getting in, but such is life. Do you really want Collingwood to play another MCG game?

God I'm over this argument. You want atmosphere? Find ways to stop so many bloody Collingwood suporters getting seats...instead of suggesting ways to let 40,000 of them in and totally negate any home ground advantage we have!!
You dont see Man U wanting Cup semi-finals moved to Wembley "cos thats where they play the final" As someone said elsewhere, the Interstate clubs seem to cope with winning GF's on a ground they hardly play on

Are you all mad on this forum? The draw is rigged every year in Collingwood's favour and you want to take away our home ground advantage against them. They give nothing to any other team, let their feral supporters miss out on seats against us, never see them give up their Anzac Day match to a team that is struggling financially to help them out. If the Dons happen to beat them they will be 2-5 when they play us. Keep the mongrels down i say and give them nothing.
After this season they will have won only one flag in the past 50 years and yet Eddie keeps saying they are the best sporting club in the world.

Yeah Agree but the same can be said about the "ticketed Games" What about the people who have already spent over $150 on a membership?St Fidelius wrote:yeah, and what about the fans that have paid money for reserved seats???hayes4captain wrote:wouldnt it be nice if the saints could play infront of a packed MCG on a friday night and also stratch their legs and get a lungful of fresh air instead of being cooped up in the disadvantaged venue that is the TD. i think we all know that saints pies would draw a huge crowd at the G, so voice it sainters and give our boys a taste of what to expect come september
BAD IDEA!
Why should they be charged even more to get a seat at the dome??
