Channel 10 news

Just wondering if anyone caught the Channel 10 news? I walked out the room for a second to come back to vision of last nights 'melee' and something bout a $5000 fine.

Anyone able to shed anymore light on what they had to say as it wasn't with the sport part of the news and nothing mentioned when sports report was done

They had a grab from the umpire's mike that a tall blonde fella said something like..

I hope you don't bash your missus like that.. to Lovett.

Story played the grab and then said the Dons would not be taking any action.

The named Dons players I understand has an intervention order for something like assaulting his former girlfriend.

So, was teh Ch10 story that there is a complaint circulating that Roo 'sledged' Lovett about his actions with his wife?

Is that what teh 'to-do' at 3/4 time was? I thought it was Lovett vs Montagna?

That's right. Which is interesting given the position of Channel 7 vis a vis the dome. But I don't think that has anything to do with it. It's related to...... sorry the 'phone's ringing.........

Of course he bloody won't. These things would be said a million times over in a match, Roo was just unfortunate that he was in the vicinity of the ump's mike when he said it. But of course Samantha Lane has never played a game of footy in her lifetime so couldn't possibly comprehend this. Do you think players are just having a friendly little chit chat while they try and belt the crap out of each other? That when Bradshaw ran down Crawf tonight and shoved him into the turf that he asked him what he thought of the current stock market situation?

Have players labelled Milney & Joey rapists? Fev an incontinent adulterous clown? And so on..

These media beat ups are becoming more and more infuriating. If Roo wasn't near the mike, the comments are never aired, and nobody ever hears another thing about it. Unless it crosses the Headland/Selwood line.

I mean, look at this crap: "The Sunday Age believes that a senior Essendon official contacted Lovett about the incident yesterday and, after their conversation, felt sure that the player did not want to take the matter further." Yes, it's a non-event, and 'believes' probably implies 'made up a story'.

"Umpire Michael Vozzo took no action during the skirmish or afterwards. An AFL spokesman said yesterday that if a complaint was going to be laid, it was up to Essendon to lodge it.

"A Channel Seven spokesman last night confirmed the comments were aired through the umpire microphone but that the network had received no complaints."

And even more infuriating.. that I've taken out this time to write about a rubbish piece of journalism on a dead set non-event. She even acknowledges that nobody has complained throughout the article. So what is the point? I heard a player say f*** on an ump mike once, but the umpire took no further action and no complaints were received by the opposing club.

Ok now I'm rambling, but grr!

AFAIC, Lovett and Sylvia deserve every thing they get in the way of verbal sledges.

On a completely separate note, somebody laid a nice bump on Lovett later in the game. Can anyone remember who it was?

Joey was on channel 7 today and said that he got a corky just before three quarter time off lovett. He also said they are good mates so he went after him because he knew he wouldnt hit him.
