Can we win the Flag?
Do you think we can win the Flag this year. Personally, I think we can. I have criticised us heavily after our recent performances like everyone but i think we can still win the Premiership. Our list and form at full strength is simply too godd.

No chance,unless...
Harves get's a time machine and we replace his body with the 98 version.
All the players that have not delivered or gone backwards due to either injury or form. Ie- Ball,Clarkes,Maguire,Kosi,Fiora, etc, finally play to there potential
Our players learn how to kick overnight
Some of our players find miraculous foot speed
Ross Lyon figures out how to coach us
Therefore,it's not likely we will win the flag this year

Look at the ladder in 1997 after round 5, 1 win 4 losses I think 15 on the ladder.... Finshed the H&A in first I don't want mention what happened after that
that was 1997 this is 2008 different times, different team, different style, different coach

Gotta wait till mid season to be able to make an accurate assesment of things. Having said that, we need to improve our game by 200% if we are to have any sort of chance.

nobody should be thinking anywhere near a flag at this time of the year...a team might look good but big whoopvacuous space wrote:Really? It's a statement of fact. Not many thought the Cats were flag-bound after R4 07.StSteven wrote:Stating the Cats were 2-2 is ridiculous...
the dogs wont come close and they are 4-0...the hawks should fade away...who knows...geelong might all get injured...

But the cats never changed course in terms of the way they played and when the confidence came as they matured it clicked.vacuous space wrote:Really? It's a statement of fact. Not many thought the Cats were flag-bound after R4 07.StSteven wrote:Stating the Cats were 2-2 is ridiculous...
The Saints have changed course and whilst we are now at our maturity or close to our blokes are not cut out for the new game plan IMO.
Its not easy to sprint 100 times 40 - 100 meters in 90 minutes. Can you do it? Most of ours can't.
IMO we need to stay in our zones on one to one. We don't have the requisite stamina for zoning the back line at all cost.
So we can't win this year because we are not athletically capable of carrying out the coaches plan (IMO).
No.
We're not in the same league as Geelong, or Hawthorn.
You can say it's early on if you like, but I don't see us improving so drastically, or the better teams' form dropping off so drastically, that we could win the flag.
We need a new game plan... perhaps a new coach.

Totally agree, we really need to trade players that have not come on -StSteven wrote:There is NO comparison between the Cats and us........just take a look, they are years ahead and have new kids coming in and performing better than us.
We need a rebuild.....dare I say it but many are!
1. Starting in the mid-field.we need players that are quick and can kick goals.
2. Favorite sons have come to the end.....I don't mean, Robert he does have this season left, if managed correctly.
3. Start playing kids for the long term.
4. We need a couple of hard nuts.
