You call him a failure!!!! He got us to 2 prelims and an elimination final in consecutive years. At the time nobody admited it but now it is accepted by the wider football community that St.kilda did not win at least 1 flag because of the constant injury woes.

How is that a failure spert?

Doesn't matter. Sack first, ask questions later.

The St.Kilda way.
Exactly my point rodgerfox. Rod Butthead should not have been allowed to sack GT. I'm not saying that Lyon should be sacked. All I'm saying is if at the end of next year he has not improved the team then we must try and get GT back. If we don't then this club is finished.

Lets face it..

According to this site any St Kilda coach that doesnt lead us to a Flag via a loss-free season with an average winning margin of 100pts is an incompetant fool.

Much easier to digest some of the nonsense written here once youve accepted that 8-)

I dint actually mean that. I have no problems at all at what GT has said in the media but he is gone we need to get over it and that means the GT lovers and haters.

Im over it, but I think GT over the $$ issues, over certain things he said, and done has undermined the club.

Your missing the point entirely. It has nothing to do with us the supporters. It has to do what is best for the players. Getting rid of GT changed the course of this club. Get him back while we still have Riewoldt,Kosi,Gram,Dal,Goddard,Maguire,Sam Fisher,Montagna etc etc.

Well mate if the Saints got him back the club would implode because it seems you hate him or love him. We would also be the laughing stock of the AFL. It isnt going to happen.

We were a laughing stock when we had him originally but that didn't stop us from being a top team did it. And since when should we be worried about what other teams and or supporters think? The only thing important is what the players think.

Nexxuss wants the saints to die, so he can say I told you so.

he is a blight who thrives on misery.

why is he never around when st kilda are doing well?

I can remember him doing a verbal version of the gollum dance when spider left and when we won our wooden spoons.

B4E and I might have our differences, same with plugger and joffa etc, but basically all those guys and gals want st kilda to succeed.

nexxuss thrives on failure.

you can hear us all enjoy our wins, and lament our losses.

but why isn't nexxuss here when we win? he's like a the cockroach, hiding in the dark.

hateful creature you are nexxuss, gollum gollum.

Why not suggest bringing Allan Jeans back. It's about as likely. Fair dinkum you spout some absolute garbage Nexus.

as for an IP ban, good on the mods.

I may vehemently disagree with B4E on every issue he raises, and I'll criticise him accordingly but at least he isnt' a cockroach like you.

25 years? sorry but your posts over the last 7 or 8 years show you up.

My answer: No premiership=failure

Maybe some people here see lots of finals appearances and plenty of excuses as a measure of a club's success. I'm afraid the history books don't show that when we talk about how successful a club has been.

Whoops ..a bit cynical aren't I. Anyway now Westaway is in charge, the flag is in the bag..that's why we got rid of Butters isn't it, or was there some other excuse..there I go again.

Moronic.

Yet completely expected.

I didn't want Butterss out because we didn't win a flag under him. And I certainly won't be judging Westaway purely on whether or not we win a flag with him at the helm. He'll be judged by me, on whether he does everything within his power to put us in the best possible position to be able to win a flag.

The exact same logic applies to coaches.

Nothing has changed on this forum, but there has been a slight shift. There are about 65% of posters still wearing "ROSE-COLOURED-GLASSES", and 35% who can finally see clearly now.

At the end of RL's contract St.kilda should go crawling back to Thomas and re-hire him as Head Coach. That's the only chance we have of getting our club back on track. If we don't, we will spend the next 6 years out of the 8 and those million dollar losses will be back again.

Attention Dan.....nobody is hurting more than me and your constant abuse towards me shows how much your hurting as well.
It is not GT or any other individual that is either to blame or capable of saving. it is everyone at the club.

our only regular player under 21 is gilbert. thats a failure on everyone at the club for the past 5 years. GT included.

Out of curiosity Gorro, why the cutoff age of 21?

What's the significance of 21?

Some very sad posters here trying to explain that we are better off now than we were before. ...... so is Iraq I suppose!!!!

These posters should do honourable thing and disappear.

Hoe are we better off now than when were were ?????

Blindness and foolish pride are no excuse for being in the bottom half of the ladder.

Keep up the anti Nexus. We all need to remind the fools of this site who cant handle success that it is their right to live without it not everyones!

It is pointless speculating about whether things would have been better / worse under Grant Thomas.

Ross Lyon is the guy coaching the team now and he needs to be held accountable for success or failure.

He could start by addressing 2 very obvious things

(1) our tall forwards all lead to the same space and create pack marking contests with many defenders on hand to spoil

(2) the opponents run out of their defense very easily indeed

Yeah ever bothered to consider our recruiting......forget where we were on the ladder....it was our recruiting that really matters. In fact stuff the premiership.....as long as we can win the award for the best recruiters I will be absolutely ecstatic.
IF you were being prosecuted for being accused of being a "know nothing, numbnutted, flaggetating flog", I'd say "your honour, I rest my case, find the defendant, guilty as charged"

Dan.....you are either very stupid or you are just trying to get me banned again. I've been posting on these St.kilda unofficial sites for 15 years. Does SAINTMANIA ring a bell perhaps? For you to say I'm not a Saints supporter is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I have spilt blood, sweat and tears for the Saints and I have put my money where my mouth is. Twenty five years as a footy club member, social club member for 12 I think and reserved seat holder ever since we went to that stupid Telstra dome that has crippled our team. My kids were members the last 4 or 5 years as well. I was at Moorabbin on the outer when we usually lost by a minimum of 10 goals each week. In the rain or in the cold, I was there. I cried when we lost to Hawthorn in 1971. I cried again when we lost to Adelaide in 1997...... Do me a favour and pick on someone else because you are way off the mark when it comes to me.
