"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."
43 in June.
I like some saw us at our very worst in the early 80's. However they seemed like great days at the time, the couple of times we knocked off the likes of Carlton, Hawthorn, Essendon and North at Morrabin where days to behold.
In most cases we had no talent and no chance but to go to work on Monday and give it to em was just awesome.
I am devout.
People have often wondered about my sanity, I have skipped important life steps to watch my team, whether it be on TV or going to the game.
In 1982 I joined the Army and have lived all over the country and on retirement i chose to live in Brisbane. Some days I regret that choice, except in about 5 weeks when all you bastards will be freezing your nads off and I wont. But I sometime wish I could go most weekends and things may work out that way in the end.
I have a STKilda Tattoo, a shrine and a bar that is mostly Red Black and White. Unfortunatly my wife barracks for Port and I have suffered huge pay back of late, especially 2004, yuk
But I love my team and have so for all my remembering days. Hopefully when I am 50(like some here) I can say I saw us at out best and brag about a couple of flags and go off in a happy way and not die without seeing a STKilda skipper holding up the cup on the last day in September.
Amen

Followed Saints since '71
Sir Robert Harvey was my favorite player
Stewie Lowe and Plugger before that.
Loved watching Rooey and Jack Steven
Now looking forward to the future
Some people make things happen, some people watch things happen, but most just say " What the f#&k happened!".

Started following the Saints in 1964 in Tassie. Heroes like Ian Stewart and Teddy Whitten visiting King Island to present trophies at pie nights at the local juniour club sold me.
Teddy did come back as second time but I selected the Saints.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

There is a rumour going around that Roger is The Peanut's GodFather. After that, a quick calculation makes him 142 next birthday !!st_Trav_ofWA wrote:roger is a spritely 21 year old (just for the 3rd time round ) me im 26 in 16 daysThe Peanut wrote:The Peanut is 59Otiman wrote:This must be a first for me on the internet recently, but I feel young. you are all legends
Did anyone go to Bentleigh East primary school or McKinnon High School?
You are all legends. And we deserve a Flag!
Go Saints.

Went to my first game in 73 and was hooked. Went to the final where we smashed Essendon by 11 goals that year as well. Then came the drought for the next 18 years. I used to go to all the Moorabbin games with my Dad , Uncle and cousins. We had reserved seats near the visitors coach box. It was like a grand final everytime we won (especially in the 80s) The atmosphere was fantastic.
Now I take my son and he is now hooked. Hopefully we can see a premiership together.
