Xavier Clarke Inury
Clarke has been stretchered off the ground. Not only was this missed for too long Geelong had an opportunity to score a goal bedcause the game wasn't stopped.
Lets face it, the original justification years back for 3 umpires was to stop this sort of thing.
Harry Clarke (Geelong) now needs to face 7 weeks penalty (a la Baker) as they didnt see that incident either. Lets see how consistent the process is this time.
Off course we all know the answer to this. It wont be consistent. The club should follow this one through if this becomes the case.

Midfield clearances and clear winners are needed to make an effective forward line.

Then the rules have changed. When Hocking charged Harvey years ago, the rules were changed to ensure that the hit players was to be within 5 metres of the ball. This didn't happen.brown-coat wrote:The commentators say it was completely fair.
They were blaming Clarkes lack of awareness. Just like it was Kosis fault when he was destroyed by Giansarcusa.
Gamble has been reported for striking Dal Santo.
However, he is a Geelong player so he may be OK.
How many frees as missed on Geelong players when they are tackled? They are allowed to do a Judd complete nearly 360degrees before getting rid of the ball. Is this favouratism? Looks like it to me.

In this instance the troll is correct... Consistancy is his problem, and is crap more often than not..terry smith rules wrote:troll go awaydevildude wrote:Clarke is an absolute marshmallow. I'm confused, so you can take out a player 20 metres of the ball and it's not a free kick. Insteed the idiot that is number 21 watched on like the yellow magot he is and they waited 5 whole minutes before stopping the play. This meant we were down to 17 players during that whole period of play.

what was even MORE upsetting is that none of our players did ANYTHING aboout itsaint edward wrote:LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:the cat player was ruckmen Trent West
Ok well i just saw the incident again and if hes not rubbed out then i'll be pretty upset.
Whats more upsetting is the fact that ross thought that it was fair.
All posters are equal, but some posters are more equal than others.

Exactly, and none of the fans around us thought it warrented a report.
Where were you sitting because the social club area I was in was going nuts at umpire number 21 for a good 5 minutes.saint edward wrote:The_Dud wrote:what was even MORE upsetting is that none of our players did ANYTHING aboout itsaint edward wrote:LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:the cat player was ruckmen Trent West

Because it wasn't behind play, a lot of people saw it. The most important person who saw it was the umpire who was looking straight at it less than 10 metres away. Like most of us, he could not believe that X did not see the guy. True, he was trotting along making no effort to tackle the Cat player with the ball, so I suppose he thought no one would be so imposing as to actually bump him. He seemed to hurt his shoulder. His physical weakness relative to the Cat players was, alas, evident amongst number of our players. It would be rude to name them, so I will:
Dal Santo
Gram
Gilbert
Roo
Fiona
Monty
Jones (although he tries and is still growing)
Hudghton
Milne
...well that's about half the team.
As a previous poster said, when Hamill went, that was that as far as legal physical presence is concerned. It is ironic that Hamill's career was ended with a clash of knees against Geelong as he was trying to impose himself on the game. He always tried to do too much because he had to do too much.
And while I'm at it, we won't get anywhere while Hudghton remains our best bet at full back. He can't kick, handpass , tackle or run. He does have dumb courage, I'll give him that!
And on next week? Take Stanton out and we will win - simple as that. If he has thirty possessions, they'll win.

I saw it and it looked to me as if Clarke ran into him without looking, the player thought he was running to bump him and popped a slight shoulder into him. Nothing in it except Clarkes head hitting the ground hard and knocking him out. I'd be surprised if anything came of it??
When they created LENNY HAYES (in the shadow of Harvs) they forgot to break the mold (again)- hence the Supremely Incredible Jack Steven!!
do not mention their name, that only encourages their egos!saint edward wrote:Solar wrote:Where were you sitting because the social club area I was in was going nuts at umpire number 21 for a good 5 minutes.saint edward wrote:The_Dud wrote:what was even MORE upsetting is that none of our players did ANYTHING aboout itsaint edward wrote:LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:the cat player was ruckmen Trent West

Trust me, this prick copped it from the fans at the other end of the ground.

That there epitomised what was wrong with the Saints after quarter time...heartless and passionless...what we needed was Fraser to go all John Bourke on West and Umpire 21. The big G goes us nothing else so would have been perfect for the role.The_Dud wrote:what was even MORE upsetting is that none of our players did ANYTHING aboout itsaint edward wrote:LENNY LEADS THE WAY wrote:the cat player was ruckmen Trent West

Umpire 21, who I'll now call Jack Black because he does not deserve anyone to actually know who he is, refused to make a decision all day, it was like he was scared or on work experience. I think the only reason he had a whistle was to check that he was still breathing, one of the worst I've seen, pathetic!

How could they when the umpires didn't even stop play. All our players would have been heading down the other end to flood.
Exactly thats what is really dissapointing
1. the umpires didnt stop play.
2. our players flood.
