I don't know why you'd have Rix ahead of any of the emergencies and then some!

And Raph probably shouldn't make it either.

Fizz/Geary/Armo/Birss all better choices than Rix for sure though/

As per the thread after the NAB grand final. http://www.saintsational.com/forum/view ... hp?t=40629

In: Gehrig, Hudghton
Out: Baker, Jones, R. Clarke, Allen, Fiora, Geary.

ST KILDA
B: Gilbert, Hudghton, Blake
HB: Gram, S Fisher, L Fisher
C: Schneider, Hayes, Montagna
HF: Harvey, Riewoldt, X Clarke
F: Gehrig, Koschitzke, C. Gardiner
Foll: King, Dal Santo, Ball
I/C: M. Gardiner, Birss, Armitage, Milne
Emg: Jones, R Clarke, Fiora

Don't think much has changed. Perhaps Goddard in for L. Fisher if he's fully fit.

On Rix, he would have made a huge difference against Adelaide, if he had have played on Tippett we wouldn't have heard all the talking up he's had over the past two weeks.

What is this obsession with Rix as a defender? He is a backup ruckman and an ordinary one at that. God help us if Rix is our CHB!

He matches up well on resting ruckmen, and the new trend of huge 195+cm key forwards means that Rix may be more useful than most think.

If Max doesn't play, who would you play at FB or CHB?
Rix has been training as a back man so he's the obvious option as I see it, may not be the greatest mind you, but who else is big enough.

Yeah, but you've got to look at who Sydney have ...

Hall - S. Fisher
O'Loughlin - Hudghton (or Gilbert/Gram)
Goodes - Blake

?

They don't have any other big forwards, so playing Rix would be useless IMO

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Time on ground ladder for NAB cup GF is (highest to lowest):

Sam Fisher - Stephen Milne (1st, 2nd players, 88% game time)
Sam Gilbert (3rd, 87%)
Jason Gram (4th, 84%)
Jason Blake (5th, 80%)
Nick Riewoldt (6th, 78%)
Adam Schneider - Steven Baker (7th, 8th, 76%)
Charlie Gardiner (9th, 73%)
Raphael Clarke - Nick Dal Santo - Aaron Fiora - Leigh Fisher - Justin Koschitzke (10th-14th, 70%)
Lenny Hayes (15th, 69%)
Luke Ball (16th, 67%)
Robert Harvey - Xavier Clarke - Steven King (17th-19th, 66%)
Michael Gardiner (20th, 65%)
Shane Birss (21st, 64%)
Leigh Montagna (22nd, 63% game time)

Clinton Jones (23rd, 59% game time)
Jarryn Geary (24th, 56%)
Jarryd Allen (25th, 42%)
David Armitage (26th, 39%)

Going by this had we played 22 players last Saturday we wouldve fielded something like this:

FB: L.Fisher - S.Fisher - J.Blake
HB: J.Gram - S.Gilbert - S.Baker
C: X.Clarke - L.Hayes - L.Montagna
HF: C.Gardiner - N.Riewoldt - A.Schneider
FF: S.Milne - J.Koschitzke - R.Harvey
R: S.King - N.Dal Santo - L.Ball
I/C: R.Clarke - S.Birss - A.Fiora - M.Gardiner
EMG: C.Jones - J.Geary - J.Allen - D.Armitage (-1)

Changes:
Out - S.Baker - Susp
In - B.Goddard - Form

In - F.Gehrig - Recovered
Out - S.Birss (or R.Clarke, A.Fiora) - Form

So possible team:

FB: L.Fisher - S.Fisher - J.Blake
HB: J.Gram - S.Gilbert - B.Goddard

C: X.Clarke - L.Hayes - L.Montagna

HF: C.Gardiner - N.Riewoldt - A.Schneider
FF: S.Milne - J.Koschitzke - F.Gehrig

R: S.King - N.Dal Santo - L.Ball

I/C: R.Harvey - R.Clarke - A.Fiora - M.Gardiner

Emg: S.Birss (Mid) - J.Allen (KP) - M.Rix (Ruck)

Emg Chances: C.Jones (For/Mid) - J.Geary (Def/Mid) - D.Armitage (Mid)

My preference however would be to also leave out Blake and R.Clarke and include Geary and Hudghton (if fit).
