Don't fret too much. From the explanation the club gave of his injury, it won't be anything like a Luke Ball injury. If you believe what the club have said, it isn't a classic knee tendonitis, rather some irritation to the capsule in his knee, which will heal and allow Rooey to play at 100% (assuming the rest of his body is ok).The_Dud wrote:well then instead of 95%, he'll be 85%n1ck wrote:There is no player in the AFL who is at 100% every week.
and instead of 85%, he'll be 75%
has the whole Luke Ball ordeal taught us nothing....?
I always beleive the club on injuries. Max didnt do his hamstring but has gone on holidays.kp83 wrote:Don't fret too much. How do the club think he will start the season? As someone else said he looked to be moving pretty well in the NAB final and has had quite a bit of rest (which is apparently one of the main ways to treat the tendonitis)Oh When the Saints wrote:Trust me, it will be fine, and he won't miss any games because of it ...
The person who told me that would know.
The club wouldn't have made him captain if they thought the knee would reduce his impact by even 10%?
I personally struggled with some tendonitis in my knee earlier this summer and after the prescribed rest (No running. Bike, swimming and other cardio fitness work ok) and a stretching program it has come up fine and im sure that Roo has had far superior treatment than I have had.
Actually playing my first practise match tonight so we'll see how it goes!

As Roo said himself, the only thing it affects is his logn range kicking. If the knee gets sore he just limits his kicking. Apparently nothing to stop him running or getting bumbed about or going for big marks. Is only an issue with long kicks IF it is sore, so I don't think there is anything to worry about.
I'd say it is just hype, considering our usual horrid run with incidents.

When he came off against Essendon and spent the last quarter icing up I thought - "here we go again!"
But the following week he played strongly interstate and tore Bock a new ****hole.
Also noticed that he had the knee strapped up against the Bombers but had no strapping against the Crows. I take that as a sign that he was on the mend.
