Can't wait....... :?

I was hoping with the new sponsors and board we might have ditched this crappy clash design! looks like it's got another season though......

We better not be wearing it in the grand final!!

This guernsey makes me physically ill.

Time to stand up for what is right and break the 2 year contract.

As Martin Luther King said (off top of head so not a perfect quote)

"We have a moral obligation to obey those rules which are just and correct, AND the same moral obligation to disobey those roles which are unjust and incorrect".

I live by this statement and I hope that our club would too!

Vile. Worse than the yellow peril.

Use the red training jumper and I'll pay the damn fine myself.

I agree, I like the look of the red training jumper as clash strip.

Two points that need to be said before every jumps on.

a) They have the contract obligation so its not going to change for this year. I think we don't wear it all that often (a few games tops) so its not a major issue. If it were a permanent jumper we'd wear 7-8 times a year it'd be different.

b) Any clash jumper will most likely need to be white, unless other clubs changed their normal jumpers. Since thats not likely to happen our clash jumper will probably always be white.

You may not like it but thats how it is.

Don't care what they play in, as long as they win.

b) is wrong as Essendons is predominantly red, as was Melbournes in the past. Richmonds is yellow and Ports is various vomit inducing shades of blue.

As long as it is a light colour, it is OK under the rules.

I don't dispute we have a contract, even though it seems a little bizare, have never heard of a contract to a set design before, I just think we should pay it out and come up with something that looks slightly less like Bai Lings fashion sense, thats all.

This is the major point on clash strips, our major clashes are Freo, Adelaide, Collingwood and Essendon.

All can be fixed with a white strip (on either teams behalf), however Adelaide and Essendon would be made worse with the red strip.

A white version of that training/intra-club strip would do nicely. Would anyone like to knock up an example of it?

I think all we'd have to do is change the black back on our traditional jumpers for a white back and clash problem solved.
Having said that....love the new training jumpers, best thing I've seen the boys in since the crusader cross design.

Lets just go for a bright blue or yellow colour....similar to overseas soccer clubs.

We tried that, remember - it sucked.

Good idea, though.

Say NO to the faded apron.

White isn't a bad colour, but the design was no good. Back to the heritage-inspired option for mine.

Hot-cross bun kit for this year's heritage round, please.

Agree. What happened to the heritage strip? I thought that was a winner.

I also agree with riccardo...why not our red training strip?

Radical thought - why not a variance on that terrible heritage round strip of before WW1. Make it predominantly orange, with strips of red and black...splash of yellow........perfect. No one has orange do they?

Orange, black and white....does it get anymore perfect?

for the people wondering why we cant wear the training jumper as our clash, its because it has vertical lines in it! thats one of the clash jumper rules, "no vertical lines"

It was a good idea but sadly didnt work in practice. As a few have said I would personally rather the training jumper myself, if red cant be done we should try with with a red and black stripe. But if we win in it and we only have to play in it a few times then I spose its not the end of the world
