No way known would I want Cousin's playing for us, aside from anything else his best football is in the past, much prefer to bring through some new fresh young talent.
Besides without the drugs, two years out of the game, would be over 30, how good is he?
We don't need him or his influence around our football club!
I would be appalled if we went after him, anyhow I'm quite sure we won't.

DO THE MATHS AND THE SQUARES ARE ALL ROOTED.
I don't agree with that. I have tolerance enough to offer second or third chances if they are warranted.riccardo wrote:Said it before, if we pick up a drug addict loser like Cousins, that would be it for me, Saints wise.
I still believe that.
However, I don't think Cousins will get the opportunity to get to those levels at any club in the future.
Hasn't had long enough in recovery for mine.

Nah, when it's all said and done, B4E makes a bit of sense sometimes.....
Can someone advise on where I can get a pill to stop my penchant for adding.........at the end of every sentence?.........

If hes available to play AFL Footy next year id suggest hed no longer be a drug addict. If hes available and playing a brand of footy it would be pure arrogance if we didnt consider him.riccardo wrote:Said it before, if we pick up a drug addict loser like Cousins, that would be it for me, Saints wise.

NO IFS OR BUTS HARVS IS KING OF THE AFL
Is the AFL testing him now? or is he his own man under no obligation to anyone?
and only a fool would believe anything ben cousins or his dad would have to say, as neither has any credibility when it comes to cousins being clean or not.

We already have a bloke who's had his fair share of problems in this regard. Some say he was the man that introduced Benny to the stuff in the first place.riccardo wrote:Said it before, if we pick up a drug addict loser like Cousins, that would be it for me, Saints wise.

Any objections to this?
25 minutes to make a name for yourself like you've never made before.
again who is to believe that he is clean unless he undergoes substantial and longitudinal testing.
you'd be a naive fool to believe his word or that of his father.
and you'd be even more naive if you think the AFL testing program is any more than smoke and mirrors.

Nice work there Dan, accusing his father of lying.

Hmmm, he has been in Melbourne recently.
We saw him at Melbourne airport on our way to Adelaide last weekend.
He was scoffing a big mess of Hungry Jacks and Krispy Cremes.
We thought he might be heading off to Adelaide to watch Gardy but he actually got on a Gold Cost flight.

"...If there has been one recurring theme through this whole shocking mess, it has been the misguided, inflated egos and their ill-judged determination to cling to long-standing old boy friendships. The bad advice that has guided the selfish and culpable James Hird has not only punctuated this saga but symbolised it..."

So Ric, You would let (in your own words) a 'drug addict loser' stop you from supporting your football team in which (going by your contribution to Satintsational) you are deeply passionate about?riccardo wrote:Said it before, if we pick up a drug addict loser like Cousins, that would be it for me, Saints wise.

The only person that loses out on that deal...Is you.

Hope your kids never have any problems because from the sound of it you will not stick up for them. You sound like the most moralistic person I have ever heard.Dan Warna wrote:again who is to believe that he is clean unless he undergoes substantial and longitudinal testing.

That is my position. Like it or lump it, I don't care either way.
There is more to life than footy, and I have moral fibre that would prevent me from supporting a club that, indirectly or otherwise, condones drug use and abuse.
BTW with Gardiner, I have stated my unease at him on our list before, but is he a proven long term drug abuser? No, I don't think so.
As stated, this is my position, you have the right to disagree, but don't try to take the highground or rationalise your arguments to preach to me, it aint changing my mind.
