Very silly by the AFL here.

The specific venue scheduling should not be preset.

St Kilda - Geelong at the Dome on a Friday night = 40,000.

St Kilda - Geelong at Canberra on a Sat Arvo = 10,000 (tops!)

I'm more upset that there won't be any TV coverage.

If the AFL force two Victorian based teams to play interstate then they should at least ensure it is televised.

Up yours Dimwit

There isn't even an audience to be chased up there anyway...

think they were going to play this game there just in case melbourne won. ever since the roos left canberra melbourne want to move in on the rest of the canberrians who dont have a club.

I am going along with 3 others to watch the Saints play. I know quite a lot of people that are coming that just love AFL. I would suggest looking at 666 ABC Canberra for coverage on radio.

I think it's fantastic that Canberra is getting a game... especially with the Saints playing :D

Having family in Canberra (unfortunately I grew up there) who are likewise born and bred Saints fans, I am stoked for them to have the opportunity to go to a decent game - not to mention it being our team! My dad visited Melbourne so much last year - mainly for the footy - that he ended up going to more games than I did - and I am a reserved seat member!

Lets be fair to our 'country cousins'...

Funny reading some comments in this thread.......

Most people on this forum have been down-playing the significance of the NAB Cup and where games are played.

Now suddenly we are into the Quarters against the Cats and the howls of derision about scheduling come out.

How amazing............

Suck it up - if you don't have access to Foxtel at home or aren't going up on Saturday, stop complaining, get off your backsides and find somewhere that does have it

BTW if we had lost on Friday night, we would have had to play in Cairns. I'd rather Manuka in February than Cairns.

But we are dooooommmed, with all of our injuries and all

Aren't you sick of it all?

Why would you want to watch Casey Scorps in Saints colours?

Why would you even want to support a club that has obviously lied to you and has notlived up to your expectations because they have the temerity not to play a full team in a practice match?

Doomed it tells ya - the sky is falling - but you want to watch it

Go figure

Lance or James??

I'm making it a weekend away, any excuse will do, nice drive to Canberra these days.

My big dilemma is I rang the club today and member's media polo's aren't out yet - and it appears that while my previous polo has been hanging in the wardrobe for a few months, the moths have got to the stitching, causing it to feel really tight on me compared to August '07.

It must be the moths

Might have to turn up in a business shirt and Saints tie......
