Riewoldt and Hayes are both great but imo i believe that Lenny is the one that flies the flag for the team. If one of our players goes down he is straight over to the opposition to give them a bump that makes them hurt. I just think he is what we need right now. He's physically and mentally tougher (just my opinion) - he played with an acl injury and a broken collarbone. Enough said.

Lenny is the natural leader and rises to another level when in that role.
Roo is a great performer who is likely to over react when the captaincy is on his shoulders. He is quite likely to take it all personally and injure himself. A great player who already tries to win the game off his own boot every week.
Lenny should be captain because the captaincy brings out the best in him and he was made for this role.

but i still see him as a little cry baby who hurt his arm.
the part that he puts in 110% every game? because that is TRUE
or the part that he cried coz he hurt his arm and felt he let the team down? because that is TRUE

saintdooley, I feel that the subtleties and nuances of English expression escape you.
The way in which you phrased your original statement - "a little cry baby who hurt his arm" - carries a demeaning and patronising tone. It deliberately reduces the gravity of the injury ("hurt his arm" is softer than "broken collarbone). The use of the cliche of a "cry baby" conjures a sense of one who is immature and weak.
Have a think about how you express yourself and how it comes across.
On a forum such as this, we infer a great deal about individuals from their expression.
What you said about Nick Riewoldt appeared to me as the ravings of an immature and insolent schoolboy.
However, you are clearly not that person

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

i think you're using the word 'clearly' rather loosly (extremely loosly infact)Oh When the Saints wrote: However, you are clearly not that person
i think Saintooley has proven once and for all that his opinion on football matters should be taken with a tiny grain of salt
one could say he should stick to creating lame ass football chants.......

not like he planned a broken collarbone in attempt to annoy his teammates.
he cried because of the disappointment, not the pain.. if you are too silly or immature to see that, please stick to making banners or booing your own players.

noone here cares that you broke your collarbone because quite frankily you are a kid that is rather full of oneself...
the one convo i have had with you over msn you come across as a kid...just that...you were so quick to tell me how you were selected to represent the kids in the 'cheer squad committee' that has just been formed...big fricking deal...its still going to be shizen and you with your attitudes and general demeanour aren't really going to assist it to go forward and develop into something that doesn't rival the spice girls
grow up little boy
