Got mine signed by Burkie and Harves. Mint condition. I paid about $200 for it at a charity auction years ago but sounds like it might be worth it in a few more years if it stays out of print.

This chatter has tempted me to take my 1992 edition from the shelf and read snippets. The book is almost bursting with many news cuttings and other printed collectibles.
I opened at page 108 describing the great 1939 Semi-final win against the powerful Richmond team. I was there that day and have a clear memory how Fountain and Garvin took Dyer and Bentley apart in the rucks and how Kelly and and Rayment shone on their respective wings.
Aaaah, memories so sweet.

I met Russell Holmesby a little while back and asked about The Point Of It All, and he said that the print run was 5,000 and they sold out within 13 months. He only knows of a couple of copies ever coming up for sale – one in a Hobart book shop and one on Ebay two years ago.

He didn’t keep any extra copies aside which he reckons is a pity because even now he gets one or two queries a month during the season from people trying to get hold of a copy.

but did you ask what he was planing to do next- or when?
or any chance of a reprint-
I know DVD's etc are the go But a good coffee table club history as we have seen becomes a collectible

He didn't say if he had plans for anything else at that stage. But he did say that had we won the '97 flag, they were going to put out an updated version.

I you'd asked me before I read this thread I would've said yes. But now it might make a good gift for my father (the 2nd book is from my grandfathers estate).
