Saintsational v Collingwood 20th Jan *Gosch's Paddock* 2pm
Gday
at this stage we are booked in to play Collingwood at Glenferrie Oval on the 20th of Jan. (still looking for a new home ground)
i have told them at this stage its a 2pm start, maybe a twilight 4.30pm game if its going to be hot again.
is that ok with people?
here is how it works: (copied and pasted from HD)
For those unaware of the drill.
These are social games between the fan forums of two different teams, where people come together to get the chance to represent their club colours for a day.
Anyone is welcome, no discriminations on age, size, gender or ability.
4 x 25 minute quarters are the go, the venue I guess remains up in the air, but Glenferrie probably winning at this stage.
Bring water, saints jumpers etc etc. If ya don't have them then a saints shirt, or even a red shirt will do.
We will have a post match BBQ as well thanks to the tremendous efforts we always get from volunteers on both sides and I encourage you all to come along and get to know your fellow sainters.
just post your name here if you can make it.
a water boy or 2 would be handy also

"Another storied win in Robert Harvey's career. They say he is the embodiment of their motto of strength through loyalty, and on the day he became just the tenth man to play 350 league games the saints reward him with a seemingly impossible victory."

what do people think about playing at Vic Ground? coolingwood say there is no cricket pitch, ground couldnt be better, there are nets behind the goals!

saintdooley, "dose" means a quantity of something, normally prescribed.
"does", on the other hand, is the verb you are looking for, the 3rd person present tense of "do".
Can't be a typo, because you used "dose" several times a couple of days ago.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

really clever starting at 4.30 rather than 2pm if it's going to be hot.
Why not begin when it is actually hotter (Melbourne's max temp in Summer on a hot day is generally between about 5 and 6pm!!!)??
Very clever!
IMO sure go for the 2pm start if it's a reasonable day temp wise, but if it's say 33+ degrees, go for an EARLY start, say 10.30AM, BEFORE it heats up.
If you are a youngun with a hangover, BAD LUCK!

Sorry Barks. I'm a bit slow on the uptake today!!barks4eva wrote:yipper wrote:Trains rattle past the ground and sometimes even stop at Victoria Park station!!barks4eva wrote:IN

I was referring to the actual playing surface, apologies for any ambiguity
I believe some of the fences around the ground have come down - enabling access. Perhaps some reasonably local ppl can confirm or deny!!??
