Nathan ablett considering his future !
they have been trying to talk him into waiting till christmas;
more to come
SEN
he was always a reluctant AFL player--
to me; better now than facing what he sees as more pressure and untold damage.

wow huge news...always was a lot more shy than the average afl player
hopefully he retires then we can convince him to join us via rookie
seriously though how was hawkins/mooney/ablett/occasionally ottens ever going to fit in the one forward line?
might be a good thing for geelong...they can concentrate on hawkins development

considering his future- several things on his mind,
talked to the club yesterday; told the players this morning;
not sure what he want to do,
an issue immediatly but glad he is honest about it,
Young man being given the space to think it through,

There was a rumour I heard on the radio aboot 3 months ago, that N.Ablett was going to retire from football in order to become a minister (?).
Good luck to the kid if he retires, screw the **** if he plays on !

it appears he told the club BEFORE list lodgment BUT they wouldn't accept it- so where does the fault lie?Otiman wrote:Agreed. A shitty thing to do to your club.Eastern wrote:This sounds like a bolt out of the blue and "AFTER" List Lodgements. If so, Geelong would be pretty p!55ed with him !!

I remember hearing how the Cats President (Costa) said how he secured Nathan....
that at the time that Nathan did not want to play AFL at all...and in the end Costa coerced him by saying that if he Naahan played AFL fora few years that he Coast would help Nathan buy Nathan's mum a house.....as evidently she did not own won and Nathan really wanted to help his mother out.....
So it is few years now...Nathan has a Premiership....but never really wanted to play anyway....and no doubt Nathan has helped his mum....
....so it is not surprising that he wants to move on from something he never wanted to do anyway.

Flying the World in comfort thanks to FF Points....
bit like his dad in some ways........his dad never wanted to play....quit the hawks after a couple of games and went back to his local contry club......the cats lured him back.......

i get the joke side of that and yes its very witty but in all honesty i do feelfor gary snr getting the blame for that girls death . im a firm believer that every person has a choice of what they do that girl had a choice to take that leathal coctail of drugs or not she choose to take them Garry Snr didnt force feed them to her sure he was doing the wrong thing by doing drugs with her but would she bear the blame if he died and not her ?saintspremiers wrote:Is that the new Father/Son rule?Riewoldting wrote:Leave the kid alone.
Maybe he just wants to take a year out of the game to go snort cocaine with a girl half his age.
Just leave the kid alone.
the way the media portray it is like Garry Snr killed her and he forced his drug use on her but in reality know one knows if she would of done the same thing if she was in a hotel with joe bloggs but cause its garry ablett hes got a bigger responceability over this girl then if she was taking drugs with joe bloggs ? its a bit harsh . shes more to blame for her death then garry Snr and Garry Snr is no worse then any other drug addict but he get portrayed as a serial killer in some media reports

yeah i know he didnt call for help but in all honesty does anyone know what state he was inat that point ive seen many drug effected ppl not able to hold a phone let alone pick it up and dial . yes it was a terrible thing and yes he was in the wrong for doing the drugs with her but is it his responcabillity to make sure she takess a "safe" ammount ? it really s***s me off when ppl die from drug overdoses how the living party get the blame for it the girl simply should not of taken the drugs and if she did not taken it to the excesses she did . its like blaming metal music for the columbine shootings never mind the fact the gun men were physcos who wanted to kill ppl no its gotta be the musics fault ! people have to be accountable for their own lives especially if they die from somthing the inflict on themself

you're joking aren't you.......don't let your prejudices about the girl get in the way of the facts...ffs......the pr!ck brought the drugs...knew it was heroin..but told the girl it was cocaine....then neglected to get help for her....he's scum...always has been./.....and it wasn't the first time that he gave drugs to kids either.....supplied a lot of the young players when he was still playing...and i got that first hand from a young player at the time............gutter rat is gary...calling him god makes me ill........
