shut up roondkosi if a ruckman gets toughted as a top ten draftee which he went and a future leader, the best mark in the draft and over 200 then uv got urself a good player regardless we were lookin 4 a big good young boy that could play ruck/forward and we got the best shut ya bloody trap ya muppet
sen been talking with ross lyon and about our picks
mcevoy is very much a country boy, when hes called by journos hes often shearing sheep or fighting bushfires
his mother is a marathon runner so he has developed a fair tank...leg speed isnt great but he seems to get to the footy first
has been touted as a future captain by a few
steven was likely to go four picks after ours to collingwood
gehrig is gehrig
Lj has had a few troubles with injury thus why he hasnt been heard of much
quick and enduranced and skillful

to be honest he sounds more like a healthy kosi then a barry brooks. Good country kid, 200 cm's at his age means that by the time he finishes growing he will be in the top 5 ruckman height wise. From listening to some talk about him he has a great contested mark (see kosi more then brooks) and good core stability is a real plus.
Look by the sound of it ross wants him to be the number 1 ruck in 3 years time, so I would take that as highly raed. At worst he turns into a very good CHF.
Very happy to pick this kid up and he has two very good rucks in king and gards to learn from in the next two years. I would love to see him push for selection in 2009.

Not even close (unless you are talking about ruckmen from this draft). He is likely to end up at 201cm, maybe 202cm.Solar wrote:Good country kid, 200 cm's at his age means that by the time he finishes growing he will be in the top 5 ruckman height wise
Most decent ruckmen at at least 202cm these days. Sandilands (211), Street (210), Bailey (208), Simpson (206), Everitt (204), McIntosh (203), Leneunberger (203), Fraser (202), Ottens (202) are just a few off the top of my head who are all taller than McEvoy,

Fair enough. Just curious. Have to agree the forum is a better place for debate.

welcome Ben
I can see you and Kosi getting on very well- matching utes and country holidays
heard the run down from a draft 'expert?' who stated that the other side of the couple of short comings was his ability to lead his team-
continuing the great work selectors have done in producing a Saints team who lead on andof the field.

happy with our picks today, happy with our week in general. really good to see how footy first is turning the club around. will mcevoy be playing next year? it would be good to develop him and van reehan as a back up for when king/m gardiner retire. good to see g-train back to, really will be disapointed if we dont make the 8 next year.
such is life

Waldron has the Saints taking at number 9 either McEvoy or Dangerfield......but he thinks Dangerfield..

I'm still gobsmacked by the insane rant from Roo & Kosi about McEvoy's selection. All week he has been tipped as our pick in the top 10. He IS highly rated, it has not surprised any of the experts that we took him. Yet, within 5 mins of his being picked - he was labelled a dud pick, and due to be de-listed by 2010 (another Brooks) apparently!! It was / is crazy. The kid is 200cm and the best mark in the TAC competition - that alone is enough for me. BUT he has leadership qualities and a big engine to boot. A very good get - definately top 10 worthy and very happy for him to become a Saint. Roo & Kossi?? you're crazy!!
I want to stand for something. I'm a loyal person and I think at the end of my career it will be great to look back and know that I'm a St Kilda person for life.

Gee... hmmmm.. maybe he acted like a complete idiot all morning!! Started with the negative, over the top attack on the young kids drafted, then abused anyone (everybody) who challenged him. hmmm, reckon it was a fair call from the mods.Spinner wrote:Why was he banned....HarveysDeciple wrote:Thread edited and RooandKozi banned.
