Only if we were wanting to pick up one of these 8 guys who were picked up between 58 and 69. According to all reports we were only ever going to pick up 3 players, but with Fraser nominating, we decided to get 4 at the last minute and will now move one (Harvs or Max?) onto the Veterans list.

58. Tony Armstrong
59. Bird
60. Donohoue
61. Barham
62. Slip?
63. O'Keefe
64. pass
65. pass
66. McNammara

Other clubs had started taking recycled players 9ie Dew at 46, Johnson at 55) or passing....so the Saints taking of GTrain when they did would seem to have been spot on..

expectations...

In 2008...to basically just get fully fit and build up a bit....with most likely a spread of games at Casey 1 s and 2s..

In 2009.....to start to show a bit.....he is late pick and so could just as easily be a flop as becomae a player...

Maybe he will score a senior game or two...but a good solid year in Casey 1s would be ok..

For him to start looking like an AFL player

2010...to really start to put his hand up and get a few senior games.

this is the year where he must really demonstrate that he can be an AFL player...even if he his game count in the seniors is not high.

If he does not shape yp he may be culled.....then again he may start to shine..

Expectations at present are slightly above what I had for Phil Raymond when drafted.

excluding the blokes we pick up with our first rounds I rarely have expectations for players until they make the senior squad.

Interesting point...but have a close look at the 1990 Draft:

my guess is that with his name it is probably tom wills...the creator of the rules nearly 150 years ago now

and the umpire of the first match in richmond paddock (now yarra park, next to the mcg) between melbourne grammar and scotch college

pretty much the founder of football

Similar...as Jack is very young too...but I would expect too see Jake come on a bit earlier....

Along with Eljay he is a very young draftee........so nothing really should be expected of them in terms of senior footy for a while.
