If it's the same foot, that's concerning.
Some people can have chronic problems with stress fractures.
Having had a couple myself, they are mainly caused by an increase in training load too quickly for an area that is not adapted to such work.
Normally 6 weeks rest followed by gradual increase in running over 8 weeks until you are at full speed and can do a reasonable amount.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.
Diet plays an important factor as well.
From my perspective I think in these sort of chronic injuries that the controlled use of otherwise banned substances may be able to aid in the recovery process.
If you or I had this then we'd have access to a much larger range of substances that can encourage quicker healing etc.
It disappoints me that because of supposed drug cheats etc, that AFL sports players arent' afforded the same luxury!
Mind you the AFL is soooooo good at picking up drug cheats I suppose its strict stance in this regard is 100% justified.
Get well Goose,
Lots of Milk for you! (also get on a multivitamin if not already)

Ah shtye, please lets not start another year of this bad news on injuries...
I don't think the club and the supporters can take much more of it.
Thanks for letting us know plugger.

This is some sort of sick joke right?
If not I would be shattered.... As for having no fitness base I have never had stress fractures (one of the few injuries I've avoided) but could he still swim? because he could increase his aerobic capacity in this time and do situps etc.... weights aswell.... I just hope he doesn't waste his time, we really need him.

Swimming is THE recovery from a stress fracture in the leg/foot region.Armoooo wrote: This is some sort of sick joke right?

Care to elaborate?St Fidelius wrote:I've heard that there's another great player out for a while (about another 6 weeks)
about an 8cm tear in his calf muscle.
Should be right though as he has a great fitness base
I hope it's not the great man you're refering to...

Just shoot em all its beytond a joke.
We need Gehrig now, as I'd expect Kosi to be playing CHB for the first part of the year.
If we wanna play an extra tall in the forward line then we'll be looking for possibly Gardner (charlie) to step up,
or rotate King/Gardiner (Michael) through forward line.
