They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.
Pick 9
Best Bet: David Myers (Tall defender who can play on small players. Athletic and has good skills. Has been linked to Saints hence why I chose him over Rance)
Next Best: Cyril Rioli (Small forward with exciting pace and skills. Rioli generated the most interviews at draft camp with the most coming from Adelaide who have pick ten then St Kilda who hold pick 9)
Outsider: Scott Selwood (Saints shocked a few by taking David Armitage early last year, could take a similar rated player in Selwood with pick 9 this year)
Fantasy: Chris Masten (Potentially a top 2 pick. If he for some reason slips past Richmond, West Coast, Melbourne, Essendon, Fremantle, Brisbane, etc I would be very shocked if we also let him pass)
Worth Noting: Alex Rance (Another tall defender who can take on smaller players. Very similar to Myers, a little taller but doesn't get as much of the ball), Ben McEvoy (Tall forward who can play ruck) , Brad Ebert (Athletic midfielder who can play as an insider and outsider)
Pick 42
Best Bet: Aaron Joseph (Best player for Tasmania in the champs. Will be a great pick if he lasts. Gets clearances so he is very handy around stoppages.)
Next Best: Mitch Farmer (Plays as a small defender/midfielder. Good at stopping his opponent as he is an excellent reader of the game. Also uses the ball well and runs off his opponent. One of Vic Metro's best in the champs)
Outsider: Hugh Sandilands (Has had plenty of interest from St Kilda. Tall midfielder who will be highly considered with pick 42 or 57)
Fantasy: Sam Reid (One of Queenslands best. Very talented tall onballer. Saints like their Queensland boys and they will snap up Reid in a second if he lasts)
Worth Noting: Jay Bowden (Outside midfielder from Tasmania. Good skills and can kick a bag of goals. Will be a half forward flanker in the AFL), Ashley Arrowsmith (Tall wingman who would add good depth to the midfield), Tom Bellchambers (Tasmania's first choice ruckman, just ok around the ground), Dawson Simpson (Very tall ruckman with huge scope for improvment)
Pick 57
Best Bet: Brent Connelly (Has reportably been linked to Connelly. Growing ruckman who has fair skills. Will continue to improve.)
Next Best: Andrew Renton (Fairly raw ruckman. Good scope for improvement. Could do worse)
Outsider: Matthew Lobbe (Forward who can play ruck. If the Saints believe he could develop into a first choice ruckman then he would be a contender for our ruck selection)
Fantasy: Dawson Simpson (Biggest young player in this years group. Huge scope for improvement. Would be great if we landed him this late)
Worth Noting: Any other ruckmen who havn't been picked (Sullivan, Mulligan, Shaw, etc)
Pick 70/PSD
Best Bet: Clayton Collard (Surprising delisting after one season at Fremantle. Would be a terrific pickup if his attitude can be sorted out)
Next Best: Rohan Bail (Training with the Saints. Reportably won the 3km time trial)
Outsider: Luke Stanton (Midfielder who has shown fairly good signs. Cousin of Dal Santo)
Fantasy: Dayne Zorko (Was brilliant for Queensland during the champs. If he slips till our last pick or the PSD I would be all for drafting him)
Worth Noting: Lachie Hill (Tall midfielder/defender who would be a good long term prospect), Luke Casey-Leigh (Son of former Richmond President Clinton Casey. Key defender who can also play forward. Probably best kept for the rookie draft), Luke Vogels (The best of the Sydney delistings, Ross Lyon would know better than anyone whether he is worth a spot), Guy Richards (Many people forget that he showed excellent signs in his first two seasons before injuries hurt him. If his body is right and he is still availble with our PSD pick then we could do worse), Kepler Bradley (Best to leave, Fremantle most likely will take him), Ryley Dunn (If fully fit then could be worth a chance), Andrew Krakouer (Best to leave alone, even if he isn't in prison), Cam Howat (Skills are a bit hit and miss but he finds plenty of the ball. Could do worse), Earl Shaw (Ex Sydney ruckman, delisted twice by the Swans. Doubt to see him in the AFL again but Ross Lyon would know better than most), Marty Pask (Unlucky to have been delisted by the Bulldogs. If abosoultely nothing is available then he would be ok)

Pick 9
Best Bet: Ben McEvoy
Next Best: Jack Grimes
Outsider: Brendan Whitecross
Fantasy: Chris Masten
Worth Noting: Dave Gourdis
It's a lot harder to tell what's going to be there at pick 42 and beyond. If we managed to get a player like Aaron Joseph or Sam Reid at 42, I'd be extremely happy with the pick. If we miss out on McEvoy, then it'll be interesting to see whether we go for a ruck at 42 or 58.

Pick 9
-RIOLI
Pick 42
-Dawson
Pick 57
-Sandilands
Pick 72

With these picks we get ourself some good leg speed with Rioli in the middle.A massive monster ruckman with a huge upside in Dawson and a another key defender with Sandilands.I reckon will pass on the last pick and keep an eye on someone till the PSD.

inside word from WC Masten is rated higher then palmer by the eagles wether that means they pick him over palmer is to be seen
also word over here is freo are more interested in Myer with their first pick as the are short on defenders and the kid has big wraps as a future leader very good artical in the sunday times about him and how he and his fellow draftees have learnt from the benny boy saga

Well, everything I know about the draft comes from reading threads like these and bigfooty, so colour me unsurprised if something wildly different comes along come draft day.
Pick 9:
Best Bet: McEvoy
Next Best: Henderson
Fantasy: Myers, Masten
Worth Noting: Gourdis, Vezpremi (don't want either of them at #9, but if we still had a 2nd rounder I'd be hoping one might slide)
