SS Player Sponsors - Payment Info/Confirmation
Moderators: Saintsational Administrators, Saintsational Moderators
I say we wait and see how many people get involved in this before we start thinking about sponsoring another player.
Once we know everyone that wants to be a part of it and the final numbers then we can make a decision.
As OWTS has already said pretty much, theres no rush for any of this either as it wont occur until after draft day when the list is finalised.

seems like we have big demand here
that's great but if we have the extra $s ... let's get Gilbert + a rookie or a low cost player
I mean we have pledges that will cover our initial aim ... let's go for it

the way I see it is that with Mr magic's 6 or 7 shares and with my willingness to up it from 5 to 6 or 7 shares (and i could be pushed to 8 shares) ... we are up over 130 shares tight now with people who previously wanted to sponsor, still to pledge and some who have already pledged MAY want a share or two in a second player?
Basically we are already up around $2000 in pledges!
rather than cut back lets try to raise $2850 and get a $1600 player and a $1250 player

May I make a suggestion?loriswa wrote:If it's not too late put me in for 2 shares = $30.....Gilbert or rookie doesn't matter to me ........ it's all about the Saints.
If we receive sufficient response to go forward with both Gilbert and a rookie, we could pool the total cost of $2850 ($1600 + $1250) and make membership of the Sponsorship program by Saintsational into 190 shares of $15 each. This way everybody will be a sponsor of both players.
For myself, I am happy to increase/decrease my allocated shares depending on demand from others wishing to participate.

there is no rush..i suggest we make payment for gilbert, and ensure that his sponsorship is finalised, and then we can use whatever funds are left in pledges to see if we can sponsor another player.
maybe make it a four share maximum on gilbo to ensure all can participate.

with cowboy, loriswa (hi Loris) and Saint Freddy that makes 129
and I am willing to leap from 5 to 8 (and extra 3 shares) so that is 132
Mr. magic I am guessing is cool with 7 or 8 shares (and I think we would both pay for more if we had a shortfall) but anyway that leaves us at:
140 shares pledged as of now.
That means we have 50 shares left and we have the funds for 2 players - Gilbert @$1600 and a player to be decided e.g. Geary @ $1250.
I agree with Mr. Magic that this will mean shareholders will be able to say:
"Sponsoring Gilbert and Player ABC for X Saintsational shares in 2008"
So let's aim for the sky and see whether anyone wants to UP their share commitment OR anyone else wants to climb on board the Saintsational player sponsorship drive!

BackFromUSA, I will PM those posters.
I like your idea.
We will just keep accepting pledges as they come for the next week and see what sort of total we have then.
Geary was second on the poll for who we should sponsor anyway, so if we were to choose a first-year player, it could very well be him.
I would tip in an extra share for another player too.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.

Pooling is also a good idea, meaning everyone contributes to the "fund", and we sponsor two players out of that.Mr Magic wrote: May I make a suggestion?

The Craw and Goodie
Onya!
Current tally: 140
Target: 190
So just for tallying sake does a couple extra mean 2 or 3 extras?

Argh this is what I get for going away on a holiday.
Hope there is still space for me.
I'd be happy with just one share but anything up to around $50 is fine with me.
If shares are $15 I am in for 3 for $45 and maybe $5 tip for admin costs / bank fees for those organising it.
And thanks BackFromUSA for thinking of me.
It's very nice to see such enthusiasm from the group. Maybe the club can throw in something free for our bulk sponsorship if we get multiple people. Maybe the sponsorship of a trainer or something.

on ya doolsa couple is 2 and a few is 3.
and
i'll see ya in ... a couple of minutes actually means 10 minutes
i'll see ya in ... ten minutes actually means half an hour
ps...i'll double up on shares if its needed
one thing that should be remembered ....pwoit donated a fully (coach and players ) 'signed' jumper that was auctioned for the grammy sponsorship ......besides giving him a due rememberance ....maybe theres an auctionable 'item' out there in saints territory
