But with no obvious person to ask the question, I will jump in.

Sean Dempster was recuited to Sydney under the father-son rule. What was his father's name and what distinguishing feature made him stand out on the field?

His hair was very long but forgot his name.

His name was Graham but the hair was the important part.

Go ahead.

I mentioned John Northey (following the plea for mercy) who coached the Saints Reserves in the early 80's. Can anyone name the sides he's coached since then?

Those are correct, but I was looking for all sides including who he is coaching now.

There were two teams in Brisbane - the Bears and the Lions!

Also coached the Ballarat Inter-league side for 4 years (1981-1984)

There is another in Qld - anyone know?

Others - all correct

I'm loving this - underdogs at 3 to 1, grand final experience in our favor and Pies over confident. Go Saints - I'm loading up!

Good work Snakeman - your up.

Anyone interested in Northey and coaching go to

http://www.swoopercoach.com.au/ for his wisdom.

Nice easy one.

Who did Carl Ditterich belt to miss the 1966 Final series?

Darryl Peoples from Fitzroy in Round 17 (18 round seasons).
Copped 6 weeks which ruled him out till 1967.
Nearly cost us the flag.

A difficult one would be - Who did Carl belt?

OK another question about identical twins from the 80s.
On second thoughts lets move on.

How about a "Who am I ?"

Clue - I grew 2 feet in 1941.

Bob Murray was born in April 1942. I don't know much about the development of the foetus but I would guess that both his feet grew in 1941.

Like your thought processes.

But entirely on the wrong path.
Let me refocus you.

"I" am not necessarily a person.
Philosophers say "Think outside the square".
But I'm more thinking inside the square.

Mercy Rule

In 1941 the centre circle was enlarged from 8 feet to ten feet in diameter.

Ok, pretty crappy question wasn't it.
I'll have another go....

As we all know, the current AFL team configuration is a team of 22 with 18 players on the field and 4 on the interchange bench.

But this hasn't always been the case.

What was the team configuration when the competition began in 1897 ?

Well that is what I always thought.

So I was really surprised when I read 2 weeks ago that "In 1899 the VFL changed the rules to have Teams of 18 instead of .....??"
