St Kilda
The Saints will start the season with five matches at Telstra Dome. Just one of those five matches is an away clash, the round three clash against the Western Bulldogs. In fact, 10 of St Kilda's opening 13 rounds will be played at Telstra Dome.
To counter that, only four of the Saints' final nine matches will be played at the Docklands venue. The Saints will have just two home-and-away trips to the MCG – its fewest since 2004.
Night matches will be a feature for St Kilda in 2008. The club will play 13 matches at night – eight on Saturday and five on Friday.
The Saints will venture outside of Victoria on six occasions – twice to Subiaco Oval, once to AAMI Stadium, once to the Gabba, once to Gold Coast Stadium and once to the SCG.

That's not very nice OneEyedSainter77. Calling me names because you don't agree with my opinion. Very childish don't you think?OneEyedSainter77 wrote:please Westaeay please, ignore this tool.... we don't want to relinquish our home ground advantage for these matches!nick_nexus wrote:That's absolute BULL TISH. 6 interstate games....what a fricken disgrace!!Saints Premiers 2006 wrote:il'l take that
not a bad draw at all
And why schedule us to play home games against Collingfilth and Essendon at Telstra Dome. Please Westaway please, tell the AFL now we want these 2 games transferred to the MCG.......please. Not only just for the bigger crowd but also from the players perspective in gaining more experience on the only ground that matters.

Grant Thomas was the best coach St.kilda ever had.

All in all a very pleasant surprise...14 games at the dome/2 at the G =16 Melbourne games...a few too many nights for my liking but you can't have everything...5 games at the dome to start is unbelievale...as is a home game to finish...8.5 out of ten.

haha fair enough. probably a tad pessimistic on my behalf. apologiesevertonfc wrote:Worst post you've ever made. We play Collingwood at the MCG in Round 19...but who else?saint patrick wrote:All in all a very pleasant surprise...14 games at the dome/2 at the G =16 Melbourne games
Looks like only one trip to the MCG...
...unless Essendon pull their finger out and need to beat us to make the eight = 85,000 for round 22.

for Western Saint supporters
Not such good news with the likelihood of a lot of television conflicts with eagle & docker games. I don't recall the exact circumstances that occurred this year but i do recall that there were a few times when we couldn't see a match live as fox would broadcast fre & wc games at the same time as FTA.
Next year the following matches are in direct conflict although we may not necessarily have a significant delay with every match.

Get your spin right FFS!
Is it one or two games at the MCG?
Lowsy deal for my MCC membership, but I'm in the big minority re that issue!
Davo - Will 9 games out of first 11 at TD cause a bit of an issue for fitness management? Is Misson concerned about 5 consecutive games at TD re players hammys??

The club will play 13 matches at night
So that should help Westaway and Burkey with gaining sponsors as that means lots of prime time exposure...
Thgough ona purely selfish point I was hoping that the first two games would not BOTh ne home games as I will be away then...

It actually looks like Carlton have pulled the best draw. 18 Match in Melbourne, including 9 at the MCG.... I thought their home ground was TD and first 6 in Melbourne tooSaint Mik wrote:YEP but at least they travel in the last roundDuggie wrote:Looks like The Filth scoop the cream--again!
Hope it hurts them come the first week of finals if they make it after yet another arm chair ride
We need to really rip up the start of the season, 9 out of 11 at TD. Otherwise we will end up in the same position as last year, just running out of games to win.
The only thing that concerns me is the middle of the year, rounds 11,12 and 13. We play 3 games in twelve days including a trip to Sydney.
Other than that we have nothing to really complain about, except playing Freo in Freo for the 14th year straight.

They should only play AFL games now when it's raining. Slow games of footy are so much better to watch.
