It might also help to mention to the Club that Saintsational have sponsored for the last 2 years....this may help to get us up the queue of what player we get to pick over anyone that has not sponsored aplayer before.

I am happy to do whatever makes it easier for the whole 'project' to take place.

I am not fussed if I end up with a single share ($15) or with 10 shares ($150)

I would prefer that the shares be spread as widely as possible so that more forumites can participate.

I am also happy just to fund the sponsorship initially so that we can get 'first crack' at the players available. If we have enough interest maybe we can get 2 players (maybe the Club would give us a 'deal' on 2?).

Mr Magic is happy to pay upfront.

I think we go with one player initially - 100 shares at $15 should cover everyone who wants to be involved, and people can buy multiple shares once we get an idea of the level of interest.

We should have the specific player finalised late next week, at which stage Mr Magic can pay for the sponsorship, and we can start collecting money from specific posters on SS.

If we have more interest then we could look at another player, but I think we should stick with one initially to make things easier.

How it works is that saintsational (this forum) chooses a St Kilda player to sponsor for 2008. Last year that player was Barry Brooks (:?). There are a number of shares in the sponsorship available for members of this forum - next year, we will have 100 shares at $15 each.

As a member of the forum, if you are interested, you will have a chance to be part of the sponsorship, and purchase anywhere from 1-10 shares.

In the next week or two, we will be choosing the player and asking for people to pay for however many shares they want.


So we might end up with 50 people who own the 100 shares in Player X. Those 50 people are the sponsors of Player X.

There is a sponsorship dinner and some Saints footy gear that comes with being a player sponsor. This is raffled off to all those who have shares in the sponsorship.

So please join in!

In a couple of weeks time, we'll be asking for specific pledges from people, so don't stress until then.


If we are "over-subscribed", then some who wanted 10 shares might only be able to have 8 etc.
