during the breaks we just sat around trying not to pass out, while the dees grouped around their coaching staff getting a rev up. they actually had a few guys coaching them and giving them specific instructions. i think its about time the saints lifted their off field spending. maybe a few specialist coaches for the next game. ill be happy to shout them a beer each for their services. i have to thank HD for the great organisation in giving everyone a run, and also the water boy for offering me water once the entire game

Thanks heaps for the game guys - was good to get a run around (even though due to the heat I doubt my body will ever forgive me).

In the end it was a relatively exciting game.

Beers after the game certainly went down well...

Thanks heaps to the Saints boys who helped out with the Demons today - all of them were fantastic and really put effort in which was good.

Cheers.

I did a slurpee crawl on the way home myself  I think I stopped at no less than four 7-Elevens (which were all packed mind you )

I thought we might have just lost it in the end as time was well in the dying seconds, but we loaded up the back line and our forwards and midfield dug deep to pull off an absolute nail biter!

I'm not sure of the names, but we had some absolute guns in our midst! Congrates also to the other Sainters who donned the other jumper to help out with the Dees - they certainly helped give us a scare!

Thanks again to you guys for letting me have a run and be part of a fun afternoon. Thanks also to Yipper again for his impartial umpiring (again) it's a tough gig but he seems to always give it his best.

Cheers,
Luke :D

I was absolutely shocking today, first team sport I've played in 3 years!

If I play again, I promise to actually touch a football leading into the game & do some sort of endurance training :)

Had a good time though! Great day, thanks everyone for organising!

4 point win with a miraculous winning goal from Lennyboy/kipper his third for the quarter, while lying on the ground and flinging his boot at the ball, which sent the ball above goal post height, over the pack and over the goal line, with only about 40 seconds to go

Best game we've beed invloved in, due to the closeness of the scores and a very loud rendition of the clubsong was belted out

Far be it from me to take too much credit, but it was quite obvious that the stirring inspirational three quarter time address was the main thing that got us over the line

the boys lifted and in a tense struggle with the lead changing many times, as has been said comethe the hour, cometh the man, lenny boy you hero

special mention to BOG Illzy who is trying out for Casey, mightysainters and many others, hey it was a team effort and I'm too fagged to remember much else, but saintbot in his saintsational debut was absloutely brilliant

as for melbourne's best, spinner and his two brothers, fair dinkum, have you guys not heard of tanking, one of spinner's brothers was probably the best or at the very least one of melbourne's best players

p.s we won't mention, or please no further mention of the 50 metre penalty that gifted melbourne the lead with only about two minutes left

mmmmm now all the stories come out :)
any injuries- no knees, ankles, backs, wrists, hamstrings, heat stroke.

may be a first if there isn't someone facing surgery in the coming months.

It was a lot of fun to watch.

A question?
WHat happens to the 'Big Carl Cup' now? Where is it housed? Should we offer to display it in the Saints Trophy Cabinet right next to the 66 Premiership Cup?
