Cousins questioned by police in Perth

Ben Cousins has been taken into custody by Perth police. (ABC News)

Police have questioned West Coast Eagles midfielder Ben Cousins in East Perth after pulling over his car.

Police spoke to Cousins for some time while he sat in the back of his four wheel drive.

Officers searched the vehicle and reportedly interviewed Cousins on video camera.

He has been taken by police to the Perth traffic branch.

Doesnt actually say hes done anything wrong... or what it is that he did...

Police could have been asking for autographs or photos at the precinct with their buddies..

Not saying he hasnt done anything wrong, but before we all jump to conclusions...

someone on big footy was watching said they put stuff in plastic bags before taking them...and benny away.......

don't think they would take him back to the station for an autograph ...unless it was on the bottom of a statement....

According to SEN he was arrested in his car, placed in the back street, shirtless, whilst the police searched the car.

Apparently another player (un0named at this stage) has aslo been arrested elsewhere.

eye witness saying he was handcuffed.

also saying another eagle was arrested.

DAMN those speeding ticket inspectors are getting harsh

CONTROVERSIAL West Coast Eagles star Ben Cousins has been arrested in Perth, according to reports.

The fallen Eagle, who is currently undergoing drug rehabilitation, is believed to have been taken into custody just after midday, the ABC reported.

His car is also reportedly being examined by detectives. Police sources have confirmed that Cousins was talking to detectives. No more details are available

Cousins, whose 2007 season was riddled with drug allegations and injury, was one of the last people to visit Chris Mainwaring before the former Eagleâ€™s champion midfielder and dual premiership player died of a suspected heart attack two weeks ago.

Police suspect that the heart attack was brought on by a cocktail of cannabis and ecstasy.

The Brownlow medallist, considered one of the Eagleâ€™s best ever midfielders, was a pallbearer at Mainwaringâ€™s funeral last Monday. Mainwaring, 41, left behind a wife, Rani, and two young children, Maddy, 8, and Zac, 6.

After admitting mid-season that he had an addiction to as yet unnamed drug, Cousins has yet to apologise to his many fans. He has rarely been out of the headlines since.
